Well... how do I begin. Let's just say I've been eating from this place on and off for over a decade... back when burgers, donner and chicken 'n' chips were just a quid.

The majority of the food which I've tried has been good. Their fish and chips, when fresh, is solid but most amazing is the fried chicken when it's just come out the fryer... it's just banging. What really makes the food at this place is the sauces, they elevate the experience to a whole new level. If they didn't have that mint sauce, I would go elsewhere (AKA Salah's). That isn't to say that the food isn't tasty on it's own... it's just the sauce... no ketchup... just sauce... raw sauce is just part of the Barkerend experience. To sum up the food... it's like 6/10 but 8/10 with the sauce.

I think an important factor to the fast food experience is the staff and how they do their job and deal with members of the public. One thing that must be said about this particular establishment is that the member of staff dealing with the order will have a significant effect on customer satisfaction and relations. It's fair to say that a couple of the staff are unable to deal with any traffic greater than two customers. Also, there is a clear lack of motivation in some members of staff and this results in me feeling terrible as I watch part of them die as they load up my chips. Other members are clearly feeling the squeeze financially and as a result the customer is left feeling hungrier than before they ate. I mean, sometimes you could count the chips on your two hands. Not all is bad though, there is a particular member of staff who is very enthusiastic about their role. The enthusiasm really shows as it's always a pleasure to have a conversation with the brother and it's also reflected in the generous portions. In addition to this, i'm sure that the prayers the brother recites over the food makes it taste much better although it's fair to say this is a very subjective opinion. Staff rating 5/10 (it would be considerably lower if it weren't for the aforementioned individual).

I think pricing is important considering i'm skint, as are many people in my position. Also, with it being based in Bradford, competition is fierce and so value for money is essential. When compared to other takeaways in the locality, it can be said that the pricing is slightly higher than neighboring shops. For example, the chicken and chips is £2.75 and does not include a drink. Zana's just a few doors down will do an equivalent meal for £2.50 and would include a drink. I feel this is still acceptable as the food is different to that of other takeaways. However this is heavily dependent on the portion size as a small portion results in feeling ripped.

To conclude, poor customer service from some and long wait times always make you think twice, but in the end the food is good so sometimes you've just gotta put up...

One of the worst meals I've had for a long time1st issue we left simple instructions keep the donner meat separate from the fish the food arrives and the donner meat is on the fish leaving the fish soggy and unsuitable for someone who has a meat allergy 2nd complaint we left explicit instructions for there delivery driver to leave our food on the doorstep and buzz our flat because we are currently isolating the driver buzzed our flat i answered phone told him I would be down an he pushed the door open and was half way up the stairs before I could tell him to stop also not impressed that he wasn't wearing a mask when I called up the restaurant to complain all I got was excuses so all in all waited over an hour an half for soggy unappetising food never eating from here again and I would advise others...

What fid I just eat!!!🤢🤮🤮. I don't know what happened but we used to travel from Leeds to get their masala fish. Their food used to be so nice but today after having it after more than a year it was nothing but disgusting. The fish was over cooked, chewy, flavourless and smelly more than usual. My son ordered wings and ran to the toilet after the first bite. I never had such a bad food from any resturant ever. The fish, naan and the wings all are unfortunetly in the bin. The quality control org should shut this resturant asap. I am not sure about the hygeine either because to make a food as bad as this takes alot of guts. I urge you not to visit this place and don't waste even a penny for their food. I still have a bad taste in my mouth after having a bite of fish. Extremely...
