Brinsley Fish Bar — Local services in Broxtowe

Well, I've always rated this chippy highly, because of its value for money and good quality food with very friendly staff, but tonight, my partner went down to pick up some fish and chips, when she stood outside waiting her turn, she was beckoned in to place an order, but there was someone standing in the doorway and she couldn't pass them without keeping a distance away for obvious reasons, at this point she refused to enter. The staff member that called her in made a comment which not only did the staff find this hilarious, but so did the customers because of her safe guarding actions At this point she felt very belittled, humiliated and embarrassed inside by this for being laughed at for social distancing.. This is totally unacceptable and very unprofessional of the staff there to behave in this manor towards its customers and we feel that the management should be reprimanding them for their bad conduct. So not only did this happen, to top it off they failed to complete the order she asked for, which wasn't noticed until she got home. This in my eyes is a perfect example of why we are still in lockdown, with peoples ignorance towards this grave situation we are in. Recently refurbished the fish bar not only looks the part, but plays the part, serving really nice chips, excellent fish and I'm slowly making my way down the menu. The kebab meat is especially nice, the offers they do are excellent.

Perhaps my only gripe would be that there's no online listing for their opening times, so we have to crane our necks to see if they're open as we're passing. If we knew online when they were open, we'd be there more often I'm sure.

What an effecient and safe way to order excellent food! Used their online ordering app for the first time and was very impressed. Collection time provided was spot on and the food was lovely. They have a separate collection point for online orders which means you can be Covid safe and avoid the shop queue and don't have to hang around outside in the cold. Win...
