Really nice little café out in the middle of the Lancashire countryside! We sat outside first and when weather turned we moved inside. Outside, it's a lovely cute little yard with some nice shops adjacent and inside, it's very tastefully decorated with original features and great big coffee pots which make it a nice place to sit and look around. We didn't have to do that for long as the service was very quick and wait for food wasn't long. The friendly ladies who were waiting on our tables were very jovial and I'm guessing a big reason many people keep coming back. Lunch was lovely - the filled croissants were delicious and intriguing! But the cake was what we came for, and it did not disappoint. My friend had sticky toffee pudding and it was huge! Mine was Bakewell tart, warmed with ice cream and that was lovely too. Prices were not expensive. After that we had a walk around the area where there are lots of nice shops and galleries and crafty things, plus there's a farm with chickens, geese, goats and a ram (we think!) which were nice to see! Likes - I thought some shops were fantastic. The coffee shop in particular was excellent with a very good range and some of the other shops were also nice - the jewellers and the chocolate shop. I love the concept of the outdoor play area with the animals for the kids too.

Whilst I appreciate some companies especially new start ups are enthusiastic; it was a pretty overwhelming experience.
I think there is lots of potential for Cedar Farm and I would return again to give it another go at some point, but as an experience on this visit I feel 3 stars is a fair...
Read moreA story of two halves. We had a lovely meal in the cafe, Food was reasonably priced and the lady who took our order was friendly and polite. Unfortunately our visit was marred by the service in the farm shop. The food was over priced and disappointingly a lot of it was not locally produced. The main issue we had though was the service. We picked up several items and put them on the counter. The store assistant was walking around rearranging odd items on the shelves at the back of the store. She looked over at us several times and carried on with her rearranging. After almost 5 minutes of being obviously ignored I called over to ask if we could pay for our items. The lady then sighed loudly and walked over to a different till and waited for us to move our items over to her. The only time she spoke to us was to tell us the amount owed. Very...
