Parking is best opposite the Hare and Hounds pub on Dole Lane. Walk back across Bolton to the entrance to the Roddlesworth Reservoirs woodland walk. There is a signposted entrance and the a walk alongside the Rake Brook Reservoir which is pleasant if not particularly exciting. Keep walking and you come to the Lower Roddlesworth Reservoir. I personally think going clockwise is more pleasant. The walk is essentially a circular walk although there are paths that will take you further into the valley if you don't watch your turns. This was a springtime walk and the ground carpeted in bluebells was especially lovely. Lots of the walk is flat-ish but there are some undulations but they are not too taxing.
