Station Plaice Fish Bar — Local services in Coventry

I recently ordered from Station Plaice Fish Bar and was disappointed with my experience. I paid over £20 for a large fish, burger and chips, but the fish was hardly a medium let alone a large, and the burger barely had a patty inside. I found the pricing to be overpriced and a rip off. While I appreciate the effort of the establishment to provide good service and quality food, my experience fell short of my expectations. I believe that the size of the food did not match the price, and it was not a good value for the amount I paid.

I was hoping for a more satisfying meal and left feeling disappointed and dissatisfied I hope that the establishment takes this feedback seriously and takes appropriate steps to improve the quality of their food and service. While I do not intend to discourage anyone from visiting Station Plaice Fish Bar, I do recommend that they carefully review the pricing and portion sizes before placing an order.

I ordered food in the shop and by mistake gave £20 extra which I realised when I came back as I checked money left as I didnt go anywhere other than fish and chip shop. So I called as soon as I realised and the man agreed that he will give me £20 that I paid extra and he forgot to give me back and when I went to the shop he refused that he wont pay anything back as his boss dont want him to sort this issue. I was driving home from work and needed to stop and get food. I was starving, and what better than to grab a chip butty, to satisfy my hunger and carb craving.

However, I should have followed my instinct and drove past this place instead of stopping and ordering. My experience included the following:

Ladies working behind the counter have long false nails, and do not wear gloves when preparing the order. It gave me anxiety just thinking about the amount of germs stuck beneath those grim nails now touching my batch.

I get home to stuff my face as I'm starving and find the batch has mould on it. Green mould.

The chips were stale.

I felt like crying and wanted my £4 back.

Sad experience and I will never go in again.
