The Auction House — Restaurant in Coventry

I went there on Tuesday with my partner for the first time since its been re opened, food was disguting and very over priced even with the 50% off. I had a chicken platter which I was expecting different chickens but it was just 2 tiny peices of fried chicken. We waited well over an hour for our food which was told 30 mins wait on arrival but it was closer to the hour and 30 minutes wait. My partners food was cold so sent it back but was no better when it came out 5 seconds later. Such a shame as some staff are nice. I was embrassed to sit and watch two staff keep shouting over to a young lad that was serving us, check their ID (two lads next us to us) but infact they looked older then the staff that was serving them and the whole pub could hear them poor lads looked very embarrassed. I would not recommend here and I won't be coming back for food again. Very over priced for such little...

So rude! We walked in and they took one look at us and we instantly felt unwelcome! The bartender with pink hair was rude, didn't smile, made us feel completely unwelcome and other customers could see that! We got apologies from other customers but none from the staff! He told my friend to take off his hat or no service in the must blunt way possible. So he took it off for service and put it on again later, which was followed with him being shouted at across the bar. It was never explained that he couldn't wear it because of cctv. We only know this because another customer got the same explanation in a much more polite manner by a different member of staff.

We will never be stepping foot in there again. He was so rude to us and we felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable. We moved on to the Penny Farthing at bannerbrook Park and got excellent service. Couldn't recommend Penny...

Will definitely not be visiting this establishment again. The meals we had were far too expensive even with 50% off. Very small portions. We have been taking advantage of the 50% off over the last couple of weeks at other Pubs and have been pleased with our meals, so we thought that we'd try here. Very disappointed, can't believe that people will happily pay the full price. Also because we had already paid the Bill at the time of ordering, when we ordered another Pepsi we were charged the full price (even though we were still eating) . The waitress could have told us this when we ordered it but didn't, so beware. Staff were pleasant enough though and social distancing measures seemed good enough. However still won't be visiting...
