It is a natural cut in the landscape with a small lock formed at the bottom which was part of the Mussenden temple estate provision. If you get the timing right, you can see the Derry to Coleraine train passing in the open gap between the sea and the land.

Literally my favourite view in all of Ulster. Check the train timetable and be sure to trainspot here, when the train leaves a tunnel for brief 50 metres and quickly enters another one. Boy, is it a view! It takes a short hike to get here, but nothing strenous. If getting here by car, there are free parking places in the nearby estate or at...
