Pebbled Bed Vineyard – A Fascinating Tour with Josh Had an insightful tour at Pebbled Bed, learning so much about its unique setup and history: The south-facing terrain, covered in pebbles and large stones, creates ideal conditions for grape cultivation Huge respect for owner Michael, who started this project back in 1999. Roses planted at the start of each row act as natural indicators of potential plant diseases. High hedges provide essential shelter, helping the grapes thrive. Annual production is limited to just 20,000–40,000 bottles. 2021 was an exceptional vintage! Community harvesting takes place on October weekends—such a great way to get involved! *My personal favorites are the white sparkling and white wines, though some also love their red and rosé! 🍷

Last weekend, my friend and I had a tour of our local Vineyard Pebblebed Vineyard, only 10 minutes from Exeter (note, this is not at Darts Farm). A brilliant tour led by former teacher who now works at the Vineyard. She told us all about the history and geology of the area, we got to taste all of their wine flavours and we had food and more drink afterwards. I then obviously had to buy 4 bottles as they were discounted! A really lovely way to spend a local afternoon out.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! My wife and I traveled 5 hours to celebrate our 10th anniversary in Exeter and I wanted to surprise her with a new experience. We had SUCH a wonderful time!! As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with a full glass of sparkling rose which was delicious. The wine master was such a great host and tour guide. The vineyard is beautiful and we cannot wait to return during the harvest to assist. MUST VISIT!!

I booked this experience as a birthday present for myself and two friends. We unfortunately arrived at darts farm ready for the wine tour and got told we were at the wrong farm 🤦🏼‍♀️ I approached a lovely lady called Sally - Anne ( I think) and she went out of her way to ensure that darts farm provided us transport to the vineyard via a colleague called kitty - who drove us there and arranged transport for us back! We were absolutely amazed by their generosity and kindness! The wine tour was great! Very knowledgeable, delicious wines in a lovely setting. Only negetive was that we booked for 2 hours and it ended in just over an hour - we were ready...

With a glass of delicious sparkling rosé in hand, charming winemaker Alex took us on a tour of the vineyards, talked about how they make their award winning sparkling wines while we tasted their other 4 wines, then served up mouth watering charcuterie with another glass of wine. We were the only "foreigners" on the tour, so good conversations ensued about the differences between California's and Devon's wines and weather. Very enjoyable and a good value. We bought a bottle of bubbly to enjoy next week on...
