Toplands, River Hamble Country Park — Local services in Eastleigh

Nice trails along the river. Rocky beach near the water. Dog friendly. People fish here though it’s not encouraged. The area has history and was used by the British, French and Americans during WWII and as such, there are unexploded grenades so be aware and if you see one wash up, report it immediately.

Love walking the dogs here. Lovely woodland walks. Would like to see horse trails better marked. Had no idea which paths were used by horses which made walks a bit stressful. Also has dog field which is open all week and weekends in the evening. Toilets at kiosk and also outside farm. Adventure playground. Pontoon is great for crabbing. Well...

Really disappointed, had to wait until after 16.30 to use the dog field as it is booked out from 10.30 until 16.30. Paid £2 to park specifically to use dog field to practice recall with my puppy and unable to. Not well advertised and had travelled quite a distance to use facility.
