Walked from Consett to High Hamsterley couple of parking places along the way at Shotley Bridge and Ebchester. Lovely walk along the old railway path through the countryside and a variety of woods. Very clean, plenty of benches to rest and suitable for all abilities. The path is hard standing, making it suitable for wheelchair users as well. Continued the walk from Hamsterley to Rowlands Gill and would say this part is a lovely walk through several woodland areas and across a couple of viaducts, with great views. Plenty of railway history to see. The last part of the walk takes you from Rowlands Gill through to Derwent Park and towards Swalwell.
