Having dropped two knives off nearly 3 weeks ago ,for a handle repair, I called today to check on the progress and when I may be able to pick them up. I emailed 3 days ago too but haven't yet received a reply.
To say I'm a bit frustrated that the work on my knives hasn't even started yet is an understatement. I've had no updates, no reply to my email to advise of any issues. I'm advised that at the time of them taking my knives on they didn't realise how busy they were going to be. Which means they've neglected my knives, which I paid upfront for, in order to satisfy orders they've taken on after accepting my knives. I really do not find this professional at all. You can imagine my shock when I'm told it'll be the new year before I get them back as they haven't even ordered in the stuff they need to do the repairs on them.
A time scale was given, that is correct. It was for two weeks. I at the very least would expect an email to advise of any extensions to the time scales. Not for me to chase up twice just to be told the work isnt even close to being started. I am aware you don't normally do rehandling either, however, you offered to look at them - I didn't push it or beg you. You gave me a price, which I paid. And now I'm expected to travel all the way back up there to pick them up before 3pm tomorrow, as you're closed until the new year. Which just isn't possible for me. I personally think it should be blok knives responsibility to return them to me safely - Not for me to take a 45 min...
Read moreI waited for months on the waiting list for a Blok kitchen knife which I was more than happy to do. Your marketing and branding is second to none. This was a treat to myself and meant to be a replacement for a mild steeled sabatier cooks knife I've had for 15 years. Unfortunately this knife has been a real disappointment. Ergonomically it is awkward to use with the combination of the deep blade and the square edged handle. Aesthetically the blade hasn't developed a nice patina but instead looks tatty. In addition to this despite rigorously following all the care recommendations the walnut handle has now got lifted burrs in the grain that you can feel making it scratchy. I've actually ended up buying a Yaxell Super Gou as a replacement for this after only...
Read moreManaged to buy a chefs knife in the weekly sale. My knife arrived 3 days after purchasing. I cannot tell you how happy i am with this knife. I was planning on buying a Japanese knife but I’m so glad I went with Blok. The blade is razor sharp and the patina is beautiful pictures don’t do these knives justice. I have found the knife to be very well balanced and a great weight to work with. All in all very happy.
Keep up the good work guys.
Regards Dan...
