Read moreStunning ancient woodland - one of the best you can find in the UK. A must-visit for those who love unique nature and greenery. There is an entrance fee of about £10 per person, but we think it's worth it because the woodland is magical. Parking is available on the site. The woodland opens at 10 am, so we suggest arriving right after 9 to be at the beginning of the queue when they open. This way, you'll get a chance to see the woodland without crowds, as it tends to get busy during the day. The woodland looks especially stunning in the morning light. We also recommend visiting after a few dry days, as it can get very muddy and slippery after rain. The best time to visit is from May onwards when the plants are in full bloom. You can spend as much time as you want in the woodland. We stayed for about 2 hours and took many pictures. They have a little farm with some cute animals on the site, as well as a little cafe with snacks. The woodland is very close to the Wye Valley, which is a beautiful area with many free places to visit. Puzzlewood and Wye Valley can make for a...
Read moreThe single coolest place I’ve ever been! Feels like a wonder of the world, honestly. We came to the UK from Coloradao specifically to see this gem and it didnt disappoint!
It’s a mossy paradise with tangled trees, rocky outcrops, and meandering trails that make you feel like you're truly wandering in a fairy realm. A wondrous mind can easily spends hours there, awestruck the whole time.
We visited without a car, and it was a little difficult to get to by public transportation (we traveled from Bristol), but honestly Coleford’s somewhat isolated location added to the atmospheric vibe. It was as if this ancient forest radiates a magical energy that slows the pace of human consumption and preserves more if the earth’s natural sovereignty. It was a truly fantastical experience and well worth the effort to get there! Do not miss your chance to visit, wherever you're from.
To wrap this up, i wanted to say the staff is remarkably sweet and hospitable. We really felt welcomed there by them and their lovely community. I hope i will be able to visit...
