Liked: Well signposted from a couple of miles away, easy to find on post code. Like the flexible arrival and departure times. Arrived mid afternoon, the site had a couple of motor homes and people with tents nicely spread out. I found the perfect pitch and had got my levelling ramps as advised on the site booking. I rang the number to let them know I had arrived, spoke to a lovely gent. Later that eve the lovely female farm owner came over to make sure all was ok. The site is absolutely perfect for peace and quiet. There is a bridle path adjoining where you can walk down to the start of the waterfall trail walks. Washing up area was great, they even provided liquid, sponge and bowl which was a bonus as I had forgot mine. Toilets were 3 portalooâs, I used once very clean and stocked. (Have my own in the van). The showers are in a block of 3 very minimalist and open to nature which I loved. Shower surprisingly powerful. The site is very clean, no rubbish. It has camp fire areas people have used before which is nice. Dogs allowed. No dog mess which was a relief. 2 dog poo bins that people used, thank goodness. The 2nd night the lovely lady came by to make sure all was well. At 11pm a couple of cars arrived and drove around the field whereby 5 men go out and were not quiet with headlights blaring and making a racket. Being a lone female I felt a little vulnerable, although they were about 25 metres away. I phoned the number given on the sms receipt and spoke to the gent I spoke with the day before. He was lovely and reassured me that it was no problem to phone and he would get someone over. Shortly one of the owners (I presume) arrived and all was fine. Really lovely owners, beautiful site, i highly recommended a visit. P.s great value too at ÂŁ12 a...
Read moreThis is our third camping experience (previously in New Forest, Cornwall), which was another success! The stunning views of the surrounding mountains, hills, and fields of sheep are a major highlight. The site offers good amenities, including clean toilets, hot showers, a washing-up area, portable loo during peak seasons and firewood for campfires. The location is excellent for the Four Waterfall Trail. A crucial tip for hikers: while you canât walk directly to the waterfalls from the camp site without using the main road. Do not start the main waterfall trail from Cwm Porth car park, as itâs wasted efforts and time. Unless, you want to visit to Porth yr Ogof cave, or the nearby cave then you may follow the small path next to the campsite entrance. Follow the path until u see a sign and small gate on your left, then open the gate and continue.
To explore the 4 waterfalls trail, use the nearest starting point (Comin Y Rhos) just a 15-minute walk away (after so many research on map and YouTube). This is a key tip for anyone considering starting the waterfalls trail there. Btw, pls update me if you could find a shortcut from the campsite. â¨â¨Just a heads up, the grassy pitches are not level, so plan your tent placement carefully. We arrived around 11 a.m. on a Friday and had no trouble finding a great, east-facing spot with a lovely view (imaging a a truly picturesque panorama view of mountains, forests, and a field of gazing sheep just next to our tent). Booking was easy, as we were told (via phone call) to just show up, and the staff collected the ÂŁ10-per-person fee. While the stay was mostly quiet, music from a nearby tent went on a bit late on our final night. Overall, we had a...

Disliked: On arrival , we were greeted at the Bungalow in a rather unwelcoming manner as if we were an inconvenience. Site states level grounded field, there very few level grounded pitches. No handsoap in ladies toilets over 3 nights we stayed and toiletpaper in both men's and ladies regularly ran out. Only one washing up station working on arrival. The facilities were basic but good but poorly serviced. It was a bank holiday Saturday, the sun was shining and we were sat outside enjoying the views and the usual sights and sounds of a working farm... until someone on the farm decided to start breaking out a large concrete slab with a digger with a hydraulic breaker attachment. The noise was deafening, struggling to hear each other speak and certainly not a noise you'd associate with a normal working farm. It continued for at least an hour until we went to complain. By this time , several other people had arrived, heard the noise and left. We rang the ring doorbell at the bungalow twice but no reply and left a message the 2nd time. We tried to ring the mobile number provided but no reply. Spoke to someone who said he was the owner of the farm working on a cottage but he didn't run the campsite and pointed out someone on a quad bike . We asked the gentleman on the quad bike if the noise was likely to continue for the weekend and was told no just for another 1/2 hour. We returned to our campervan and decided that if the noise didn't stop , we would move on. Luckily the work was stopped immediately. The work ( not normal farm work or noise) should never have been started on a bank holiday weekend, I developed a really bad headache...
