Hi everybody 👋👋 just back from a Monday to Friday break at Craig Tara 😁. Here is my honest review of the park/holiday I had

Arriving by the campsite bus was easy as we got it from stance 14 in Ayr bus station. The bus leaves Ayr bus station at 35 to and leaves the camp at 5 past. Unsure of bus prices but I'm sure somebody else could help! If arriving by bus just go to your caravan and if your caravan has a green label on door with your name then you can enter your caravan.

Our caravan - I paid 30 extra to choose this van! We stayed in number 67 Stirling village and wow what a location, we walk up some stairs and turn a corner and we are right at the pavilion/burger king and next to bus stop brilliant location. When we arrived The caravan was still getting cleaned even though we paid for 2pm check in we got in about 2:15 so no complaints. Caravan was super clean tidy and living room is huge with kitchen area. Beds were clean and comfortable but only problem for me is I'm 5.7 and I didn't fit in the beds in the single bedroom I had to sleep in the couch. Lots of space for clothes and your accessories. Cleaning supplies in cupboard and basically everything you need for a caravan holiday. I have a video of the full caravan if your staying here or going to pay the extra then let me know il send the video.

Activities in the camp We done the 4 seat bikes in the camp and was £16 for an hour which I don't think is bad. Only issue is make sure you bring trainers with you otherwise you won't be allowed on the bikes at all we had family members who couldn't get on the bikes due to no trainers! We didn't do swimming or any other activities apart from the bikes as quite expensive plus we had no children with us!

Food and drink We ate out at Burger King and chopstix. Chopstix is okay wasn't a great selection for fussy people . Only thing I liked was caramel drizzle. Good prices tho for meal deals but wouldn't get again ( had no chicken curry) . Burger King is expensive but you pay for what you order. Food was hot. Good and ready quickly. The touch screens weren't working so had to order at counter. The ice cream is good but milkshake machines were broken 😢 we didn't eat at chippy because another family member did and they were sick. The ice cream van is good £3.29 for a big tub of ice cream but was nice for the hot weather and the outside bar is lovley to sit in and have a drink in

Entertainment We played bingo 3 nights and was so close to winning. Bingo sales start at 6pm and finish at 7 for eyes down at 715 it's £16 for your full page book and two flyers which they play at start and at the end. After the bingo your moved from live lounge to bonga wonga and the entertainment in the club was okay we had a Ed Sheeran tribute one night then a magician then two of the male singers from the cast but other than that entertainment wasn't that great I've had better in England but that's my opinion. (. Good for kids)

The shop The nisa local shop is good as it sticks co-op food and the prices is what you pay. In the morning they have lovley rolls and sausage ect which I had and it was lovely!

Amusement The amusements are roasting lol 😂 in this weather but Lots of different varieties of machines grabbers to choose from and the big prize shop also for your tickets. Make sure you save up for your 2ps 😂

Overall good holiday. Definitely will be back but might only do a hideaway next time due to lack of entertainment for adults ect but only my option!

Also bring suncream if u think gonna be warm cos I'm burnt from one day in the sun 😂 😂 ( embarrassing photo in photos)

Any questions please pm me or ask below 💕 here is some...

My family and I are just leaving Craig Tara after a four night stay in a gold caravan.||||On arrival, the caravan was clean enough (there were crumbs here and there in the kitchen area, what looked like small leaves on the double bed and it was clear that there was no checking of under furniture (we found a discarded ball and snap bracelet from previous occupants)) and no towels (these are included in the gold package). The towels were delivered shortly after I contacted customer services using the text service to request them.||||We ate in Brigs of Ayr on two of the four nights. It was as expected, i.e. Whetherspoons type food but significantly more expensive. We enjoyed what we ate although some of the menu was unavailable when we tried to order the second night. Not good value for money but we knew that would be the case before we ate there.||||My two 15 year old girls went swimming twice and found the pool itself to be good (it’s the best pool they’d visited in all the Haven sites we’ve visited) if a bit young for them but there was a 30 mins delay going in the second time as the pool was too busy, despite there being timed sessions, and they both said the water was far too cold.||||The last night we decided to order fish and chips for delivery to the caravan via the Haven Serve app from Cook’s fish and chip van on site. It was £52 for four haddock, two large chips, one curry sauce, two mushy peas and four sachets of tartar sauce. Rather expensive but it was a treat for our final night after a busy few days. When it arrived, it was delivered by a less than friendly man who didn’t speak and once we’d emptied the bag we realised part of our order was missing. The problem was there was no phone number to ring to let Cook’s know and having to go to the van to get the missing bits would have meant we were coming back to cold food and rather defeats the object of having an order delivered. I contacted the Haven customer services team the next morning (they were offline in the evening) and they said it wasn’t their problem and I’d have to speak to Cook’s. When I queried how, they advised there is no phone number for them and I’d have to speak to Cook’s staff directly. Not possible when we were checking out at 10am the next morning! Appalling customer service from Haven for one of the vendors they sponsor via the Haven Serve app and likely make lots of money from.||||We didn’t spend much time on site or take part in any activities as we chose to visit the local area instead but the entertainment area was as expected and the Live Lounge had the standard fare/entertainment which we didn’t watch. The only time we spent in the Live Lounge was for one session of cash bingo. £16 for one four page book and two flyers. I was very disappointed to find the games were very limited, the two flyers were for full house only and of the four page booklet, two were only used for single line games and the other two for full house games. There were 738 players that night which means the ticket sales were over £12k. The prize money paid out was just over £1k. A huge profit for Haven. Absolutely shameful. It was the first and last time I will play cash bingo at a Haven site.||||My family and I have stayed at many Haven sites over the years however this will likely be our last visit. The cost of the stay for the caravan alone was over £1k and the cost of everything on site was extortionate. Value for money is so poor when you consider alternatives. The stay definitely wasn’t worth what we spent and it’s a shame that we’ve left feeling disappointed after many...

Whatever you do don’t go the whole place is absolutely filthy!!! |Upon arrival on Friday 24th October, it was immediately apparent that the caravan was not in a safe or habitable condition. The cooker knobs were hanging off, which raised concerns of a potential gas leak. This was reported immediately. When a maintenance gentleman attended, I enquired about obtaining a hoover, as the floors were covered in dog hair. I was advised to text a number on the fridge the following morning, as no cleaning staff were available at that time. After waiting in for our shopping delivery, I began to notice further issues including mould, grime, and curtains hanging off the rails. On Saturday morning, I contacted the number provided and was told I would receive a call regarding cleaning arrangements. No call or visit took place. I subsequently attended reception in person and requested that the caravan be cleaned, or at the very least to be allowed to hire a hoover myself. Both requests were refused, though I was assured that someone would attend to clean and inspect the caravan. Again, no one came. Due to the condition of the accommodation, and given that it was my son’s birthday, I had no choice but to purchase cleaning products and bleach and clean the caravan myself on my hands and knees. I continued to report the issues and provided photographic evidence showing mould, grime, and ingrained dirt. I then text the maintenance number again asking for someone to clean and was told they would attend around 11am yet again nobody came. I then attended reception yet again and following repeated complaints, I was offered a £100 refund and promised that a cleaner would attend at 2:00 p.m. I returned to the caravan, missing planned family activities, and waited for over an hour. Yet again, no one attended. When I reported this for the fifth time, I was told that the park was too busy to move us but was reassured that someone would “definitely” come out later that day. Yet again we returned to the filthy caravan and waited for someone to attend. Despite this, no one came that evening or the following day. At one point, a cleaning van pulled up outside the caravan whist I was waiting I went straight out and asked if they had come to clean and inspect our unit, but was told they were attending next door. One of the staff members then asked, “is this about the hoovering?” I explained that the entire caravan required a full clean, not just hoovering. She said she would promptly speak to her manager and get back to us. However, we never heard anything further. This made it the 6th time I had reported the same issue without any resolution or action being taken. The next morning for the 7th time I went to reception and reported yet again nobody came despite we waiting almost all day. After this final incident, we were left with no alternative but to cut our holiday very short and leave the park early. The accommodation was unsanitary, unsafe, and entirely unfit for purpose. I spoke with whom I assume to be a senior manager who didn’t seem to be the least bit interested despite me showing her multiple photographs of mould, dirt and filth. The conditions of the caravan and Haven’s repeated failure to take remedial action represent a serious breach of contract. We booked this through a family member who works on site, who we had been really excited to visit. we are bitterly disappointed and will never be returning. I strongly advise anyone who is considering going here to not...

Absolutely loved it. My whole family did. I'm struggling to think of anything negative at all. The caravan we stayed in was a silver with a front porch. Dog friendly. Was spotless when we got there. No smell. Was perfect. No towels or anything but we got plenty of cutlery and plates/bowls etc. One of the taps was slightly loose but didn't cause any issues. I struggled to get 4G inside the caravans. Was considering taking a fire stick but it wouldn't have worked. Got okay 4G outside though. The caravan has locks on every window so it was both safe and toddler proof. The entertainment was great for toddlers/kids/young teens. Not really for adults though. You've only really got bingo. We stayed Mon to Fri and that's all there was. The swimming pool was slightly busy but had no issues with changing stalls or lockers. We thoroughly enjoyed that. It was my son's first experience swimming so it will be a fond memory. I was a bit unsure with the age of the instructors on adrena-line. Thought they're pretty young but they were incredibly responsible, switched-on and mature. It was a great experience. Thought the sensory room for my son was great. He loved that. In terms of food and drink. Before going, the feedback I got was that it was expensive. It was but not as much as I thought it would be. A pint is between £5-6. Chopstix was 6.99 for a box of noodles with a topping. There's loads of takeaways and a couple of restaurants. We ate in the Brig of Ayr I think it's called. A restaurant/bar. Was like a slightly expensive wetherspoons. They have a mains deal. 2 for £18.99 I believe? They'd forgotten to give us a straw, a steak knife with the steak. When we asked for those after they said they would get them, they forgot again. So we had to get them ourselves. They didn't give my son peas with his dinner when we asked for it/was part of it. Wasn't a deal breaker though. Just an accumulation of small things. But they were attentive in the sense of going over potential allergies in the food (my son has a few). Cocktails are pretty pricey in general. Start at £8 I think. Don't remember seeing a shaker. So I suppose that's pretty expensive. When you're watching entertainment, you can have drinks/food or even a takeaway from elsewhere (outwith the venue) ordered to your table which was a really nice touch. They have on-site delivery drivers. Heads of Ayr farm is literally nextdoor. We spent a day there. There's a large Tesco 15 minutes away in the car. The shop in the park (a Nissa's) is pretty expensive so I would recommend only getting necessities. The gift shop is good (my wife spent more than she should have). The entire park is designed to be entirely convenient. That's how we felt. Everything is in the one place in terms of bars, takeaways, restaurants, entertainment, swimming. There's so much to do and the activities aren't too expensive. So when you balance that up vs food and drinks, it's really not that bad overall. The staff all the way through were impeccable. Incredibly friendly, attentive and professional. Any issues we had (next to none) were resolved then and there. We were impressed with our caravan. Even the kids next door that put their music off at a decent time. Everything fell into place with us for a perfect family holiday. So thank you Haven - Craig Tara. We will be back.
