My car broke down on the A82 on a lay-by and after I called them, they quickly came to see the car so I really appreciate especially since I really needed to get going being about 400 miles away from home. The lad who came to have a look at the car, and after I showed him that the clutch cable snapped, said the part will be difficult to source and that he had to go back to the office to call some parts stores to check if they have the part and that he would let me know once he has some news. 2-3 hours later, nothing so I tried calling but nothing. I tried WhatsApp messages using their business account and the only reply I got was when I said that I know of a parts store which will have the part the next day to which the reply was āhave tried 3 different stores, which one was it?ā. After that, no response either on the phone or WhatsApp, even if I explicitly asked to let me know if they canāt help so I donāt wait for nothing. My only complain here is, please if you donāt want to help say it clearly instead of making me wait desperately. If you had said āno canāt helpā from the very beginning, I wouldnāt have had a problem with it. I wasted hours hoping for you to come back to me then realised there was no point waiting any longer. Again, I really appreciate that you came to see me to try and help me (you were the only one) but please in the future, try to be upfront/honest if you canāt help or donāt want for some reason so people donāt have to wait for nothing. Being that far from home and starting a new job in a couple of days, you imagine the anxiety. Crazy to think that nobody could help me on that day, I would still be stuck on that lay-by if I had not decided to drive my car 400 miles with no clutch pedal (can be quite dangerous if you donāt know what you are doing). Once I got home, it took me an hour to change the cable myself (Iām not a mechanic). Anyway, thanks again for coming by but please be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām a solo female traveller and Iāve always found going to garages alone a little daunting but my campervan had a few small issues that I wanted sorted before continuing my UK travels.
I called countless garages but all had 3ā4 week wait times, however when I called Leven Street Motors, they told me to bring my van down the same day and very kindly let me stay overnight in their car park so they could take a look first thing. They made sure I had everything I needed and made me feel very safe and welcome.
They quickly diagnosed the issues, sourced the parts faster than I expected and had everything fixed so I could head back off on my travels in no time at all.
They really went above and beyond, not just with the work itself, but with how they treated me. They took the time to ask about my travels, gave me recommendations for places to go while I was in the area and were just genuinely kind and honest people.
It wouldāve been easy for them to take advantage of the situation with me being hundreds of miles from home, on my own and as someone who knows zilch about mechanics, but they didnāt. They were transparent, respectful and incredibly helpful. I wouldnāt hesitate in the slightest to return if I ever needed them again. Thank you so,...
