Philip Warren & Son — Local services in Great Britain

Not too happy with our order recently we pre-ordered a smoked boneless gammon joint for Christmas and we even filled out the form for it stating exactly what we wanted.

We went to collect our order and pay for it and we were told the gammon was slightly heavier and we were fine with that and trusted that it was all correct but it was only until we got home that we had been given an unsmoked joint and by that time they were closed so was too late to go back.

Just a bit annoying how it was all on a special form so that we could get exactly what we ordered but they still sold us the wrong type.

Update: they have reached out to me to apologise which is much appreciated, can’t fault the service here, they are very friendly, I know minor mishaps happen sometimes and they’ve now sorted it very...

I took a delivery last year of hogs pudding plus a selection of their products. Having moved away from Devon the guy I used to get the worlds greatest hogs pudding from is now dead (my great uncle) who was a butcher on Kingsbridge high street long ago. This hogs pudding is good, closer to a sausage though, the recipe needs more head meat/fat in the recipe and ideally some oats (for improved moreish texture). Head meat/fat gives the hogs pudding a sweetness and complexity that made people break in to and burgle butchers 100 of years ago and target hogs pudding (look it up). Philip Warren and Son makes a good attempt at traditional hogs pudding, best I've tasted that can be delivered from an online order and I will buy it again, but it's not the best I've ever had for the...

What a find, I'm down here on business at the Pennygillam Ind Estate. Visited Philip Warrens.....the quality, selection and presentation of this local butchery is exceptional....the Take Out Pasties, Scotch Eggs are the best in Cornwall.

Above all.....the service is brilliant !! Friendly welcome, nothing too much trouble. There's a veey good reason why it's a very busy place, It's SO GOOD and they've clearly built a superb reputation for themselves....Well done.
