An absolute slice of heaven!
I booked a full Spa day at the Signet Spa as a birthday treat for my best friend. I was intrigued by the outdoor spa concept but a little nervous about doing it in March!
Well, what a complete revelation. Arguably the weather paid a part but the experience from start to finish was fabulous.
The facilities are excellent, from the wood-fired hot tubs to the glass-fronted sauna with spectacular views over Rutland. Lying on loungers by the pool we got to enjoy the serene vista, spot the occasional bunny and even encountered a very chilled Highland cow!
From the outset we received excellent service. Helen was super helpful in organising our treatment times, we had a VIP welcome from Elle on arrival, with a glass of bubbles and an explanation of the services and timetable. Our lunch in the 1760 Brasserie was just the right balance ahead of our treatments with Trinity, who was a wizard at rejuvenating our faces with the delicious GAIA products. But special mention must go to Lindsay, who spent the whole day looking after us seamlessly. Drinks as required, helpful pointers and making sure we had everything we needed, she really elevated our experience and I believe, is the secret weapon to the success of the operation.
We will definitely be returning to the spa, my only worry is whether they will be able to fit us in!
Thank you for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAn original concept - an outdoor spa - in beautiful surroundings, (with the cutest highland calves nearby!).
We were looked after wonderfully by the member of staff who greeted us and served us tea; our masseuse, Jasmin; and the fantastic waiter who ensured we could still choose from the menu weād seen on line when booking (it was not made clear to us that we would actually be given a much more expensive menu on a Friday that would have limited our options instead of the advertised 3 courses for Ā£30). The food was incredible and the facilities were exceptional!
I would have given the experience 5* if it wasnāt for the fact that our final hour of tranquility was spoiled by hotel guests arriving to use the pool and spa facilities: suddenly there were children splashing and jumping on inflatables; a mum and toddler wandering through the spa lounge and changing area because her toddler needed to be kept busy while a wedding venue was being set up - a member of spa staff encouraged them to settle into the tranquil lounge; an older child (12ish) using the sauna with her Dad; one of the hotel guests asking if we would be much longer in the delightful wood fired hot tub!
The whole vibe of the Signet Spa had altered for the worst from this point. I would suggest the management do not allow hotel guests to use the facilities while spa experiences are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came here for my sisters hen do and as much as I want to leave a really positive review I have to highlight some improvements. There are only 3 hot tubs and they are very small, you can only really have about 3 people in one at a time, anymore and they overfill- they also werenāt very hot. When we went over for afternoon tea we were told we would be fine in our dry robes so we didnāt bother getting changed. Except when we got there the restaurant was filled with people and it definitely was not the place you would feel comfortable sat in your swimming costume. When we came back from our meal the spa had become increasingly busy and the outside area by the pool was filled with guests from the hotel and there were no more beds/ chairs outside - not ideal for my heavily pregnant sister. So we ended up cutting our day short. The staff giving the massages were exceptional, I would highly recommend a massage! However, the other staff didnāt really seem to know what was going on, nor were they...
