Stunning hike up to sprinkling tarn from Seathwaite farm on the route that takes you up past Styhead tarn. The path is well trodden and easy to follow and takes in some fabulous scenery. I had a huge pack on my back full of camping gear and it took around 1.5hrs. I left the car at Seathwaite carpark just before the farm, which was absolutely fine - just make sure you park sensibly and not obstructing anywhere the farm vehicles need to go. I camped just beyond Sprinkling tarn, as there were a few other tents around the tarn and I preferred the solitude and view down the valley looking back to Derwent Water. The night sky full of stars and the sunset and sunrise were the best I've seen.. absolutely magical! I then took the route taking in great end, Ill crag and broad crag up to Scafell Pike summit, which I had all to myself in fabulous early morning sunshine. By far the best little adventure I've had in this country. Can't recommend enough!

Possibly one of the most well-known tarns in the Lake District National Park. With Great End towering above, this tarn sits on Great Slack and Seathwaite Fell. A great rest stop before heading off up to the Scarfell range, Esk Pike, the great gables. A very popular place to wild camp. Think I've camped here about 8 times and it never gets old. Amazing place and if you haven't already been here, it's definitely a must visit. Video on my YouTube channel, just search Steve Hayes Adventures.

Best wild camping spot! Incredible views both en route and at the lake itself. We just parked at ‘Seathwaite Parking’ (not the campsite) and hiked from the farm to the top, by taking the beaten track which follows a river the whole way up to Sprinking Tarn. The hike took us about 2 hours but would be less if not for all the camping gear. Definitely recommend!
