I'm not sure why you are replying to my review nearly 5 MONTHS later, you weren't concerned at the time when I tried tirelessly to contact you. My order WASN'T to be sent via Royal Mail, I paid the delivery charge for courier and yes, I DID double check all the details so I find the suggestion that this was somehow my fault, offensive!! YOU The Cornish Company failed miserably in December to fulfill customer orders, you only had to look at the Facebook page for example (all negative posts now seem to have conveniently been removed), to see the many many unhappy customers waiting for orders that didn't arrive desperately trying to contact someone in customer service. You didn't even send my order so it wasn't a case of it being delayed either, you just decided it wasn't being sent and contrary to your reply you DID NOT do your best to inform me of the changes. Just accept that you didn't meet the standard, you didn't fulfill customer expectations instead of coming on this public platform 5 MONTHS after the event suggesting that this was my fault and that I should have double checked my delivery details to make yourselves look better! Cornish Company accepted my order, confirmed the requested delivery date, took my money then failed to fulfill!!!!!!!!
Really disappointed. Have used CC before and was delighted. Placed an order on 12th December for delivery 16th. Clearly says on website on a bright red header that Royal Mail wouldn't be used due to strikes so allegedly courier delivery. Cornish Company sat on my order from 12th until 15th December before informing me that they wouldn't be shipping that day for delivery on 16th and it would now be 19th for delivery on the 20th because of the strikes despite the website saying they would not be using Royal Mail?? And having also accepted my order on the 12th December they had decided on the 15th that they would no longer be shipping to Scotland or Northern Ireland (be good however if they would honour the orders they have already accepted and taken the money for). I was also charged £6 shipping (which has since been returned having challenged it) despite the website saying free next day delivery and judging by a lot of the Facebook posts, people have been receiving their orders via DPD (AND on the dates I was told wouldn't be honoured) but not me, clearly I don't qualify. I am so so disappointed, it's taken the joy out of surprising a dear family member. I messaged earlier as I have still not had any confirmation today 19th 20:15pm to say that my order has been shipped for delivery tomorrow 20th and I am not holding my breath. While there had been a few emails back and forth on Friday initiated by me, there really hasn't been a heartfelt apology for the terrible service. So as I sit here, I have no idea if my mother-in-law will receive her delayed Birthday hamper that should have arrived on Friday 16th. Given that there are also further planned strikes this week, (although who knows what carrier options they are using, they don't seem to be clear themselves, it seems that perhaps delayed Royal Mail is good enough for the likes of us in Scotland and Northern Ireland as opposed to using a courier) I can see this hamper sitting rotting in a sorting office somewhere over the Xmas period and if that happens I will most certainly be expecting a full refund!!!!! Completely polarised experience compared to our last one, will not be...
Read moreBe wary ordering, Yodel is the courier. Totally unacceptable experience. I can't say how the products are - but delivery, an utter nightmare. A member of family stayed in all day awaiting my parcel. Cream tea for 4 for an 80th birthday. Nothing delivered all day. I contact friend's daughter at family home 3.30pm, give her tracking info, we both track delivery rest of day. At 18.23 I received an email saying "Out for delivery 4pm to 6pm". What!! Still no delivery. Someone was in to take delivery all the time. At 21.18 I receive another email - "Tried to deliver, unsuccessful, will attempt again next day - excluding Sundays" .... tomorrow is a Sunday. The courier did not ring the bell; and did not leave box on the doorstep - despite there being a note on door saying "Any deliveries leave on step", as being an 80th birthday family were anticipating several parcels might come. Sensible just in case in loo, or garden. This means scones and cream will have been in post for around 4 days when received, and will be stale and possibly "off" (cream). I am 80, husband with dementia. The stress of this since 4pm ish has made me feel ill, wondering, worrying, trying to track delivery - tracking showed "With courier" until well after 6.30pm. A treat for an aged friend has turned into an utter nightmare. I wish I had never ordered. I will be contacting Cornish Company Monday 8.30am and asking for a refund. They can't resend order - family going to relatives...
Read moreI had the pleasure in sampling the Cornish company Cream tea after being sent box from my work colleagues after an operation I was gifted this beautiful box that contained afternoon tea for two which included two steak pasties for scones with jam clotted cream biscuits and even the tea Afternoon tea is one of my favourite things to do, but I normally have it at a venue This I would say was definitely in my top two it was absolutely fantastic and I got to share it with my mum The pasties were superb probably the best pastry I’ve ever tasted The scones were fresh and fluffy and a credit to whoever made them The tea was perfect And the biscuits were fabulous, especially the shortbread with clotted cream. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted a nicer shortbread biscuit I did do a little video of me opening the gift when it arrived, but I ended up in tears I was so overwhelmed and was too embarrassed to post
Thank you to the Cornish company for your amazing product. It was one of the nicest gifts I’ve ever had and will certainly be one of my favourite gifting ideas. Highly recommend this wonderful treat I look forward to...
