Been visiting Trago restaurant since I was 5 years old, i am 34 now…, today was the worst experience in a restaurant in my life! My mum ordered my roast dinner for me as i stood back (my son has autism and i didnt want him to accidentally touch the hot plate as he doesn’t understand) my son was getting inpatient, so my mum just said to her husband quietly “oh i hope the queue hurries up as (my son) might have a meltdown waiting…” just a private comment, no malice meant in it at all. WELL….the woman with red hair serving, SHOUTED “DONT TELL ME TO HURRY UP, HOW DARE YOU!!! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?? YOU DONT TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!! IF YOU DONT WANT ME TO SERVE YOU, GO TO THE OTHER END AND WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE!!” It was shouted at the top of her voice, she didnt stop for breath and was a wild rant. We were all in shock and i took my son away and sat down to calm him down as he was upset and how this woman had unexpectedly lost her rag, we didnt dare reply as she looked like she was about to jump over and fill our face in she was so aggressive and confrontational. My mum just replied “everyone can see what your doing, you have an audience” a colleague came over to see what all the shouting was about and she shouted “SHE JUST TOLD ME TO HURRY UP!!” And the colleague said “ you shouldn’t say that to her!”. It was totally wild, and we couldn’t believe what just happened. Thankfully I had all the food we wanted on the tray before she started shouting at us so we could leave. During our dinner the lady with red hair kept giving us evil looks whilst we were eating. We then witnessed a worker there who has been there for what i know for at least 30 years was aggressively shouted at and humiliated in front of everyone. Wow, what a toxic environment that place. Upon thinking about it, my mum decided she would tell the manager as it was so out of order, the aggression and confrontation. Tony was very understanding, listened to everything and gave us a full refund which we were very grateful for and resolved it. There is some very nasty staff in there but some very good ones too, i feel sorry for the good ones getting swallowed up by the bad ones there. Food was lovely!! Tony resolved it all though and is a very...
Read moreI'll start by saying that the brand strap-line of "Whatever you want" does genuinely seem to be what they can provide in store. I don't think there was anything I could think of that they didn't seem to have.
I visited the Liskeard store a few times whilst on holiday. I was advised by family members of its 'uniqueness', but you really need to see it yourself.
It's hard to describe the 'oddness' of the place. There are multiple gold painted statues scattered all over the place, many of which are the creepiest things I have seen. They don't seem to make any sense and there's no real theme to them. The general building looks quite cool and I was interested to find out its history - was it an old mill for example? But upon speaking to a staff member, and doing my own research, I found out it was built from scratch as it is. No history. Which makes it really weird as to why it was built the way it was.
This is a labyrinth of a shop. There's no real ideal to get around it, and it's confusing inside. Departments switch from one to another with no connection (for example, sweets to electrical accessories, to paint) and everything feels like it's all over the place and very random. I struggled to find something I needed (an extension lead), as it wasn't in the electrical accessories aisle, but instead half the shop away with the torches.
The creepiness from outside follows you inside with murals painted on the ceiling / walls around till areas. I have never seen something so disturbing in my life, and I never want to see a Cherub again after seeing that artwork, so just avoid looking at this if you can.
Overall, 3 stars because it does seem you can get whatever you need, albeit with a touch of difficulty in locating it, but 2 stars knocked off for the general creepiness of the extremely odd artwork etc. and the general very outdated feel of the...
Read moreExtremely poor customer service across the whole place. Asked for help to exchange an item at the checkout as it was damaged. Even though there were 3 cashier's free not one offered to help me! I asked the cashier if she could phone the department and ask if someone could bring me a replacement but cashier told me there wasn't anyone there. I asked if she could try as I was so exhausted ( I do have a disability) Nobody answered the phone. So I had to return to the toy department myself....... As I got to the top of the stairs I asked a member of staff if they could help me exchange the item for me ? , to be told it wasn't her department ! The next day returned to Trago to make another purchase I had seen the day before.... asked for help at the information desk as I couldn't find anyone to help me in the garden section as you walk into the store by garden furniture. Was told there should be someone there in a minute.... 10 minutes later, I had to ask same lady if someone could help me? Eventually a member of staff appeared but unfortunately was speaking to another customer about childcare and arranging lifts to school etc. After 5 minutes I tried to make my presence known and was obvious the man was not picking up on my attempts for help. Again I returned to the info desk and said I couldn't get his attention ! I was told there wasn't anyone else available. But did put out another tanoid call. But nobody came ! Seriously ! You couldn't make it up.... eventually I managed to get the mans attention but he still didn't acknowledge me ! Eventually the woman left talking to him in which then he turned to meand asked how he could help .....so he was aware I was there all along !! I told him we had been waiting for over 15 minutes while he was chatting to a friend he didn't even apologize.....
