Well-organised with decent entry, parking and exit routes. Parking is via automatic number plate recognition and pay-on-exit machines that accept cash and credit cards. No admission charge but there are a few paid activities and there's a charge for a small foldable map.
Several routes available of different lengths and for different activities (cycling, running, walking) and there are kids trails with Gruffalo and Zog themes as well as a fun trail with forts and other structures dotted throughout. Go Ape is based here too which had high ropes, etc. but requires booking ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
It can be busy near the entrance with families, couples, cyclists and dog walkers but it soon quitens down on the longer (1 hour or longer) routes. I often see deer, foxes, a wide variety of birds once you're in a quieter area and there are hides here and there too. Some routes are hilly and it can be muddy in winter.
There's a nice cafe near the entrance to grab refreshments before or after your walk, with beautiful views.

We managed to find a shortcut to the end as the twins were keen to find the characters but all in all it was a miserable and disappointing experience. The young family behind us gave up after 10 minutes!
At least Coombe Hill is free (!) , has spectacular views, and paths which have been created, if needed, from natural materials so that everyone can walk around safely.
The Highway Rat trail is, sadly, not suitable for young children in the...

Maybe a cycle ride or a horse ride if you are lucky enough to own one would be good.
For the little ones there is the Gruffalo trail and for those a little older an orienteering course is great fun and in places somewhat challenging.
With Go Ape on site as well, if your pockets are deep enough then you could spend more than a day there.
The only down sides are that it is hugely popular so can get very busy, and all day parking is £10. That said, if you are a regular visitor annual membership is a must at £10 as parking...
