Rather bucking the trend with reviews, I note, and my experience may be explained by others' posts. The fact is that I was passing and popped in to explore the gins. There were about four other people in the shop. Throughout, the person at the till was engaged in a phone call. Now, I appreciate this may have been important (even if it was quite chatty from the end I could hear) but there was no acknowledgement of any of the customers, no quick apology or even a raised hand. After several awkward minutes we left, followed by the other customers.
The next day we popped back. Another similar phone call. We turned and left.
Other posts say how knowledgeable and talkative the owner is. That might explain his phone conversations. But (and I work in retail) you have to remember that you are at work and that your job involves engaging with customers. The range of products looked good, so why only one star?    Read moreThis shop does not have your standard offerings and core ranges. If you want good whisky that is not easily found, this is the place. Great selection of bottles that I have never seen anywhere else. The owner is a super friendly guy. I hate that I did not get his name. His attitude alone is enough to get me back in the store.
