IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES DO NOT EAT HERE!!! I used to come here often as it local and the food and service used to be good however I have waited some time to write this review and have tried to get in contact with management on a few occasions, a few months ago my partner and I went for some lunch. We ordered a drink and a meal. I explained to the manager my partner has an egg allergy, he ensured this was okay and spoke with the chef which we could overhear. The food came with no drink we waited and eventually once finished the food the manager brought our drinks and asked if we would like to order a dessert. The available desserts contained eggs except for one but we felt weary ordering the manager went to the kitchen the chef offered a brownie as suggestion(alarm bells should of went at this point our mistake) which my partner knew contained egg so we asked if the management could again confirm with the chef. The manager did consult the chef and the chef offered to just serve my partner an ice cream sundae that was egg free, which we were happy with. When the ice cream came my partner took one bite and said there is egg in this. I asked the manager and he said the chef had made this especially with no cross contamination. My partner then ate another bite but felt unsure and asked me to try it, I ate a piece of the ice cream and realised it was filled with crumbled pavlova(which was not on the dessert menu at all) we again consulted the manager who seemed to be quite distracted and wanted to leave his shift early to watch the football match instead of serving the three tables in the restaurant. The chef emerged from the kitchen and I called him over and asked if this was pavlova he promised to my face it was not. THIS WAS A LIE. The manager even took a bite to see and then brought the dish away to the chef who confirmed it had egg. The chef did not apologise or realise the severity of what he had done He showed no accountability and stayed hidden in the kitchen and ignored me in the restaurant when I tried to confront him. The manager deducted the 2 drinks one pint one juice from the payment and we left as I knew my partner woukd begin to feel very unwell and swolen. Thankfully the reaction was not life threatening however if someone with nut allergies had of eaten something here this may not have been the case as the chef does not take allergies and dietary requirements seriously and it could result in someone being unwell or dead in future. I made contact with the restaurant and they hung up on multiple occasions when I wanted to report this. The chef is incompetent and the management are incapable and my partner just eats at home now as you can't be too sure even if the chef confirms to your face. Lessons learned and hopefully this review will prevent others from having a...
