The bar for Co-ops seems to be disappointingly low in general so it's no surprise that this Farsley branch is no exception. You'd not be wrong in thinking that the Farsley Co-op is a supermarket but what you're actually entering is a hunger-games style warehouse for Uber & Deliveroo orders. You're pitted against the staff as they rush around the store to pack the online orders that are seemingly prioritised over an in-person customer experience, regularly feeling as if you're an inconvenience; often probably being just that for the team as you compete for the same products. What's even more audacious is that the fresh fruit and veg is anything but, often being spoiled and gone off on the shelf whilst being very over priced, as most products in the store are.
If you dared expect convenience or expeditiousness then you'll also be left wanting as despite self-service tills now being the norm and us all familiar with their use, should there be any issue that you require assistance with - such as an age restricted product or overcoming the scale calibration being set to accept only the lightest of feathers - then it is often quicker to just go somewhere else than wait for a member of the team to materialise as they're too occupied with hunter-gatherer responsibilities of the online orders to even notice the queue forming.
Those essential items: yeah, they cost a fortune. Things you don't need: suspiciously underpriced. Either way, every shop, whether it be 1 item or 10 will always be around £30 with the alleged paltry member discounts somehow costing you more money. This is what we expect as valued...

When the sale had gone through I had to learn under the glass counter to retrieve my goods as she had...
Read moreLove it, local to me and prices now seem to be ok for a local shop. Years ago co-op prices were extortionate, I remortgaged once to buy a loaf of bread :-) . Nowadays they seem to have rebranded and you see deals and offers on. I like to see that as a lot of older people live in Farsley that may struggle getting to the bigger supermarkets, nice to see prices are reasonable. Good selection of...
