A great place for the young adventurer. We took our 9 year old lad and 14 year old daughter who are very competitive. Both took the treetop + course which took about 90 minutes to complete. The fee was just over £20 each. You get a full bum harness which is very secure but allows total movement. A few zip lines as to the excitement, jumping off a platform about 15 foot high so you've got to be brave and trust the equipment. There were a few young kids in front who didn't like it so you have to be sure because once you start the course there's no turning back. Adequate parking, be careful going down the street that leads you to the park, it's literally a very narrow street and can get bottle necked quickly. Loads of space to take a picnic too especially nice if you drop on a +18° day. The loo's are about a 300 yard walk from the main booking in cabin so make sure you ask the kids if they're empty otherwise it's a trek. Great also for the budding camera enthusiast as a good camera will capture some great shots of your kids up in the trees. The levels available to tackle, 1 for the (I'd say ) under 7's, the + course for the brave 7+ up to about 14 and the very high, quite demanding course for the older kids. There's a minimum age & height restriction on that one and they have to be supervised by an ADULT who actually goes up in the trees with them so before you book that one make sure you have your Bear Grills person with you. Could be mum dad or friend but they have to go in. OK let's sum it up from a punters pov. +Parking is good. More than enough +Staff are excellent, they know what they're doing, your kids are in safe hands +Courses are fantastic, from beginner to pro +VFM, can't do owt these days for under 50 quid and the kids will LOVE IT. Toilets are a trek If that sways you one way or the other then my review has done it's job. I'm just a regular normal 2 up 2 down family who were looking for something a bit special and Go Ape has certainly done it for me. The real judgement call is very simple and one I measure all our family's day outs by. From ease of stress- free parking for the driver to ease of stress-free area to sit and chill to have your picnic. Would I go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had an absolutely amazing experience at Go Ape Temple Newsam yesterday! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly for our large group. Although we originally had to book over two time slots due to our group size, the team were incredibly accommodating and managed to get us all on the course at the same time, which made the day even more enjoyable.
A huge shoutout to Dan, who was incredibly friendly and professional ā he took the time to clearly explain everything and gave us great advice throughout the course. Meg was fantastic too ā super encouraging, especially when a few people were struggling with parts of the course. Her positive energy kept everyone going. There was also another member of staff (we didnāt catch his name, unfortunately) who was genuinely outstanding ā he went the extra mile to support us, from giving tips on the trickier obstacles to making sure everyone felt safe and confident.
The course itself was brilliant ā a perfect mix of fun, physical challenge, and adrenaline. The Temple Newsam location is absolutely stunning, especially in the sunshine. The treetop views and natural surroundings added to the whole experience.
Everything from the staff, to the weather, to the service and course challenges made it a day to remember. Weāll definitely be coming back ā highly recommend to anyone looking for an adventurous day out with a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTook my 7 and 9 year old on the Adventure + trail and they had a blast! The instructions were detailed but quick and delivered with a great sense of humour! There are 5 trails for them to complete and this filled our full hour of time. It's difficult to recommend what to do with trail 5 as it is so much higher than the others and without any warning. Our 7 year old really found the wobbly logs really difficult and got to a really agitated state. This is where it's hard to recommend. She HAD to get through it as people were coming in from behind and she DID do it and I was so proud of her to overcome this difficulty - and that's what this is all about conquering fears. What would concern me was if someone found trails 2,3 or 4 tricky to navigate then they would really find 5 hard. I am sure that they have a plan for if someone can't get beyond an obstacle but this isn't made clear and again I'm torn because if people know there's an easy way out, then they might take it - again, this isn't what it's about. If you can be positive and supportive then this is a real must and trail 5 really pushes their comfort zone. So, if they find 2/3/4 tricky maybe just keep...
