---NEW OWNERS
BRILLIANT! Relaxed, the guys are GREAT. Polite, fresh, no conning and even got an IOU from them as a regular! :)
One bad point is they don't do small kebabs. There is a plethora of kebab shops around for those who don't cook. Every night I buy a kebab and I buy a cheaper small from other places as Kouzina does an expensive (but nice!) large. I don't buy from kouzina purely due to it not being cost effective so maybe this is an area it looses out.. There are new kebab shops opening all around with smaller kebab and cheaper prices so I hope Kouzina doesn't loose out too much
Meats are all cooked well, nicely seasoned. I'd like maybe a glazed chicken BBQ'd kebab which would be nice..
5 Stars due to the new owners. Can't fault the good food they put out :)
--------OLD OWNERS 1 STAR WATCH OUT for Kouzina Express Southgate. Check your change, the new owners make up the prices and do that trick of 'thinking' about the price as if they don't know and will make up a different one every time. Not only that, if you are lucky enough to get change, you'll be shortchanged. The chicken kebabs taste different like they have used a cheaper supply of chicken. What happened? You've lost all loyalty here in a place full of kebab shops which is not a good...
Read moreOverall, the quality of food is very good, however this is overshadowed by the restaurant charging service (additional to your order) and yet you have to specify whether you want salad, OR pita bread. It makes no sense to levy service and not include a simple sundry item in return. Furthermore, some dishes require you to specify a side, but there is an additional charge. Example: keftedes; order five or ten, then you must choose a side: pita/bulgur/salad etc., and when you do, the charge for that side is added. There is a clear intention of charging the customer for as much as they can without any thought on providing value for money, which is a shame because the food options and quality are decent, just not fairly priced. No kebab is complete without pita or salad, but here you have to specify which of the two you want. I ordered sheftalia and chose salad. Pita was extra. My friend chose chicken (skewers) and chose pita (over bulgur/rice) but didn't even get as much as a garnish never mind salad which, everywhere else, is standard. In summary, good food, somewhat overpriced and the menu pricing structure means the customer ends up paying more...
Read moreI ordered 2 pork kebabs over the phone, confirmed the order, when I went to pick up the order I asked again that it was 2 pork kebabs, they said yes….when I got home and opened them up, they were chicken kebabs.
I called up to tell them the issue..eventually I managed to speak to someone who could speak English and he agreed to make 2 pork kebabs and I couple pick them up in half and hour (so this is now an hour and a half since I first ordered)
I picked up the 2nd order and took it home. Opened them up and this time they got the order correct, however considering I had to wait a long time to finally and drive to the shop and back twice (40 mins of driving altogether, petrol ain’t cheap), it would have been a nice gesture from them if they were to throw in something for my hassle, like chip/dips/drinks etc. we got nothing extra, not even a bit of lemon to squeeze onto the kebab. The kebab was quite nice in taste, but certainly would have preferred a bit of lemon in my kebab.
So the food is ok overall but I think they really need a big improvement in...
