The attractions were generally enjoyable, I also like how they change some of them every year. What I found let it down this year was the much longer queues, which tarnished the spooky element of some of the attractions, some attractions had few actors or people that weren't that enthusiastic, and the food stalls. Regarding the food, I will happily put my hands up and be proved wrong if we looked in the wrong place, however the website had mentioned more food options than what we could see were available. Also, due to the time the park opened for Xtreme Scream, a lot of people decided to eat at the beginning. As a result of this, we decided to do five of the seven available scare mazes first, and then go to eat, in the hope it would be quieter. This did so happen to be the case, however I felt disappointed to say the least with the service at both stalls. I went to the chicken stall first, where they missed off the coleslaw, spring onions and crispy onions when given (it is part of the list of food items in the menu). When questioned about it, staff said they had run out of everything except the crispy onions, threw some on and left it at that. I then went to the doughnut stall, which had a small queue for doughnut orders, but it was not until we placed the order that we realised how many people were waiting for orders that were already placed. We spent ages waiting at a stall that had absolutely no organisation whatsoever, to also be told they ran out of almost all of the toppings listed. By the time I received my food, I didn't even really want it anymore, plus they weren't even that good anyway. I ended up throwing most of it in the bin! Disappointed with the lack of supply against the demand, and the extortionate expense for how long we waited and what we got! We just about had enough time to do all of the mazes before we left, however the last one we did felt very rushed as a result and it felt more like a chore to complete them all, instead of a fun experience. That was my third visit in four years and it was definitely the worst, not sure I'll be going...
Read moreNot sure if I will be able to make my first visit, but woke up to this email this morning.
I planned a nice little break from Glasgow to the Midlands to experience this brilliant looking attraction, paid for the ticket, paid for the hotel, the train.. Overall spend of around £250, which was meant to be a nice little treat to finish the Halloween season!
If you don't live within a hour of Twinlakes, I would use my experience as a cautionary tale. If you plan on coming on ANY date there is no guarantee this date will happen. Don't rely on the event running.. Your ticket and plans may or WILL fall through, don't book your trains, don't book a hotel, maybe it's best to pop in if you're local
There is so many Scare Attractions that do appreciate the dates they post, which allows you to plan. Don't be like me, don't lose £180 or so that you can't get back! They are offering to refund, or offer a upgrade. But this is not easy due to the distance, and the trust in Twinlakes isn't particularly high. It is not easy to just reschedule everything you planned a NEAR Month ago. Nevermind me sinking ANOTHER £180 into this, to rectify their mistake. I take a refund, I still lose £180. Me and my partner both booked this time off too, we can't just reschedule the trains/hotel/holiday time so easily. If you advertise a date, please respect your customers enough to run it.
Ho hum, use my review as a lesson, if you actively book a day off for this, book a train ticket, book a hotel, prepare for them to cancel on you. Wether it's the last date in November,...
Read moreI have been twice in three years and this place has gone drastically downhill.
Only two of the mazes are worth visiting. The rest are heavily understaffed and not scary whatsoever.
We were a group of 6 with evidence of 6 purchased tickets on our phones. Unfortunately we lost one of the small cards you receive upon arrival which ticks off the mazes as you go. Some of the nicer members of staff realised the issue and let us all go in. Other jobsworths made us walk back to reception to get a new card.
When asking for the new card we were told that if the ticket couldn’t be located in the maze (impossible task), we would have to re-buy another ticket at 35 quid. It made no difference that we have evidence of original payment.
Whilst waiting in reception we overheard a member of staff trying to charge a group over 50 pounds for queue jump which was more than half of that price online. Wouldn’t be surprised if they tried pocketing the cash themselves. We didn’t pay and I hope the group didn’t either.
It seems like the attraction don’t care about delivering a good customer experience anymore. They care more about making money.
If I had to give anyone any advice, it would be, don’t go. Not worth the money as you don’t get scared anymore.
If you do go, make sure you don’t lose your tickets or you will be charged again regardless by the brainless staff.
Such a shame, has potential to be great again but clearly making money has become the...
