Purchased our Samsung KS8000 55inch TV plus soundbar and TV table from here 18 months ago. TV started flickering two months ago to the point of being unwatchable. Did all the typical stuff of checking for software updates etc but still an issue so called Hughes.
An engineer was sent who said he did a software update that should have fixed it despite my concerns that this looked to be hardware rather than software related.
Not surprisingly the TV then started flickering again within hours of him leaving. Called Hughes again to arrange another engineer visit . Engineer comes out, takes a quick look and decides it needs to go into Hughes to be tested.
So Hughes collects it a week later (TV now out of action for about two weeks). Hughes took it a month ago, have been testing it ever since. I've had to call repeatedly to chase.
Called last week was was told it had received some hardware replacements to its Internal chip boards and was ready to be returned and that Hughes would call me this Monday to arrange.
Not surprisingly at this point no phone call so I'll be having to call them again to arrange. I'm not holding out much hope it's actually been repaired at this point either.
At every step the onus has been on me to call, chase and to really pester Hughes for updates on what was an extremely expensive TV. No effort has been made to keep me updated or return phone calls when promised. Hughes are very good at giving you the hard sell when you go in to buy something but the after service and care leaves a lot to be desired. Went to Currys originally to purchase a fridge freezer (there and then!). We were completely ignored for 40+mins while we were browsing, plenty of staff walked past us without even as much as a simple “hello”. When we eventually did require some assistance we asked someone who said they would get someone for us… 15mins later we walked out. No one even acknowledged us on the way out of the store either.
On our way home, we made the fantastic decision to pop into Hughes. Absolute night and day difference when we entered! We were immediately greeted by Peter, who kindly welcomed us in and asked us to let him know if we needed help and let us browse in peace. Upon finding the same fridge freezer we saw in Currys, we asked Peter for his advice. Peter then displayed his knowledge and incredible customer service skills. He was also open and honest about the comparison of the two products we were interested in. Despite holding up the team a few minutes past closing (we didn’t realise the time!) he did not rush us and let us complete the transaction before they locked up for the day.
Many thanks again for your wonderful service Peter and showing Currys that they are little to no competition to you company!

Last week the LPG oven went wrong in our busy commercial kitchen, we contacted Hughes Trade and Charlie was outstanding. They didn’t have an LPG oven in stock but he arranged to have one delivered over night so we got it the next day. Charlie went out if his way to ensure we got sorted and contacted us the next day to ensure it had arrived.
