House No. 35

On the day we arrived we noted a number of issues.

Hole in bath panel, broken small door on tumble dryer (child face height), broken fridge shelf, (the first two issues were repaired with duct tape that evening). Brambles were growing through the decking on our arrival which we cut off as we had children with us. Soaking wet outdoor furniture cushions, member of staff advised of this on evening of arrival (the Management of the site were unable to dry these in the whole week we stayed there, probably due to the fact that they didn’t remove the covers and dry these and the foam inserts separately, until this suggestion was made to a Director of the Management Company on the Thursday late afternoon when they tried to return the cushions to us still soaking wet!!).

A wardrobe door didn’t run properly, screws hanging out, en-suite shower had leaked onto carpet in bedroom and dusty/dirty skirting both in bedroom and inside en-suite shower, frayed blond which doesn’t operate smoothly.

Children’s bedroom, safety cord on blind was broken and had been knotted up (a Health & Safety issue), frayed blind again.

Main Bathroom - bath shower screen seal was broken and water leaked all over the floor.

Outside main path dangerous paving, was cracked, large gaps and loose paving.

We stay away in properties two to three times a year and unfortunately House No. 35 was very disappointing. We don’t feel this is a stunning high specification property as advertised, it is not being maintained to that standard. This is not all down to the Owner, the Management of the site should have ensured that the property was checked in between each letting. There were numerous other small issues, advised to them by email and delivered in person. Insufficient glassware for six people (and husband annoyed that there were no glasses suitable for a glass of beer, had to go and buy one), missing lids to saucepans (something they specifically request guests to use to save energy in their Welcome Literature). Lightbulbs that didn’t work and no replacement bulbs to be found. The lighting in fact in the downstairs main bedroom was inadequate, not of sufficient wattage.

The photos on all websites advertising this property are out of date. The leather dining room chairs are no longer there and the outside furniture is completely different.

Yes, the view is stunning and probably (together with the indoor pool) was the best part of our stay. The young lady who booked us in was also very helpful on the first evening.

We were in contact with the Management (a Director) during our stay and also following our return home. Their only offer was a discount on another stay! We said that all we would have liked at the time was, for matters to be dealt with, and perhaps a bottle of wine and a bunch of flowers as an apology.

Following your response both on here and Trip Advisor where we are unable to respond, I hope that people will read our review and your response together and see that there are differences in our views. The management did not act diligently and swiftly regarding the majority of things. Your receptionist, unfortunately the name of whom I cannot remember, but she had an unusual christian name was helpful and arranged for another staff member to attend on the first day, but after that matters seriously went downhill and nothing else was resolved during the seven days...

Overall a great week spent here. We were a complicated group needing four bedrooms and at least three bathrooms, number 9 hit the mark. Clean, modern, and well equipped. A couple of nit picking issues, in a house with six adults and two children a two slice toaster was never gonna work! The under floor heating coupled with the well insulated building meant that we were soooooo hot we had to turn the heating off. The swimming pool was great. Our big problem with this specific house was the position of the car charger. We had two fully electric cars and a key reason for booking was the availability of a dedicated car charger-unfortunately it was bizarrely positioned and wholly inaccessible. Fortunately the staff were brilliant and spoke to adjacent plot occupants to enable us to share their chargers. Otherwise would recommend this brilliant plot and location...

Just returned from an amazing, refreshing, and revitalizing week in number 42. We were hoping for sea air and a lovely time with our family and dogs (thanks so much for taking dogs number 42)—it is December—and got so much more. Superb skies and sea views from dawn to dusk, a lovely warm swimming pool and sauna (no others sharing it at this time of year), and the hot tub, which provided all of us with so many special moments during the day and in the evening in full sunlight, sunsets, under starry skies, and in blustery winds. We also really appreciated the extremely comfortable accommodation with lots of thoughtful and useful extras and a state-of-the-art fully equipped kitchen. Thank you so much Lynne and Jenny and your staff for your welcome and for ensuring we were having a great...

This was our second visit here, this time staying in House 38 and once again it didn’t disappoint. This property had amazing views across the Cornwall coast, even on the stormy days it was beautiful. The 3 bedroomed house, with underfloor heating, windows open to the view, with hot tub on the decking was beautiful, so much so, we’ve already booked for next year, to enjoy the wonderful Cornish coastline. Even in these strange times the property was cleaned thoroughly, with nothing left to chance, including the keys being sterilized. Hopefully when we go next year, it will be like it was the first time we visited. This place is excellent for a quiet week away, walks to the local towns or sharing times with friends and family. Nothing is too much, the staff & facilities are wonderfully helpful.
