Having read the reviews, I can only surmise that the people that left the 5 star reviews are all well off Londoners or the like who have no issue paying over the top prices because they’re used to it. I feel like this cafe is aimed at the London types, or why else would you charge Ā£7 for a medium size pasty and Ā£9 upwards for a sandwich. As for the Ā£28 they want to charge for a mug !?? 🤣🤣🤣 it beggars belief. I will say that the cafĆ© is very nicely presented and the beach huts outside that serve as eating areas are very nice and novel. I also appreciate that the footfall from passing trade isn’t a lot, but If you can afford three members of staff then maybe your pricing is supporting these overheads. Our experience of the customer service wasn’t great either. Hardly effusive. As for the look of contempt when I asked if the Ā£28 was for a set of four mugs rather than just one…. That’s a whole different story altogether. Is that really rational pricing or did the manufacturers take them for mugs. We only had tea & cake. As a matter of principle we would not pay their prices for pasties or sandwiches. It’s not that we couldn’t afford it, but why would we pay over the top prices for simple cafe food.

The rave reviews for the so called ā€˜cheap’ parking and the amazing beach is an eye opener. Normalising these parking charges is mental. And if you really think the beach is amazing, you need to explore more of Devon & Cornwall. It’s average at best. This area is a great little stop off for a coastal walk admittedly, but there’s so many better beaches and areas...

Beautiful location, bit of a steep winding road Down but well worth it, beautiful little cove with sandy beach and rocks and rock pools when the tides out there is a notice saying beware that the rocks can be sharp climbing and in hot weather you could have weaver fish come in so wearing those beach shoes for the sea are best. We saw many people enjoying the beach and the water as its so clear and clean, great for snorkeling and body boarding too, beach cafe is amazing with my favourite drink on the board '' deluxe hot chocolate' among all coffee's that you'd expect and tea's, food is just right for a beach cafe and nets ans beach shoes, buckets and spades etc available here to for the perfect day, car patk was £1.50 for an hour and £4.70 for up to 3 hrs but I didn't look to see what all day parking was sorry, but honestly once you are there you'd want to spend the whole day there as its so peaceful, car parking probably is about 50 cars maximum so if you decide to go, get...

Would like to review the beach but its just a cafe apperently... So here goes.

Cafe is nice, prices are reasonable for the area with nice selections of cakes, teas and pasties etc. Pasties were £4.50 so average for the area.

Seating and toilets are available, nothing is rushed here.

The beach is great but today it was missing sand, seems the last few tides have stripped it away and dumped loads of Kelp everywhere. Was fun trying to get over mounds of seaweed though.

The rock pools are epic, dozens everywhere, crabs, starfish, shellfish and anomies are easy to spot. Rocks are not smooth so it's easy enough to scramble over.

Small sandy stretch in the centre at low tide, not fine sand, more small stones but good enough to build a sand castle... Wonder what it's like when the tide has not removed half the beach.

There is a stream running down the beach which you can jump easily or have more fun and dam up.

Parking is reasonable but try higher up on the...

We walk Looe to Polperro most years when in Cornwall. However this was our first visit to Talland Bay Cafe as the other cafe was closed. We took tea, cake and cold drinks towards the end of the day and everything was perfectly good. Cake sizes were great, the price was if not cheap, no more than you'd expect and certainly not OTT. If I could be picky I'd say the Tea wasn't prepared with the same love as coffee and it perhaps felt a bit canteeny at the counter. The man behind the counter and clearing tables in particular was great. The tables in huts are as welcome in the high sun as they are on the blustery days. Toilets are portaloos funded by the cafe, albeit perhaps spoiled by some grumpy notices about the council not refurbishing the public loos. Presumably so the cafe can get free loos.
