Anston Chinese (new management in June 2025) — Local services in Rotherham

Safe to say, this will be a first of lasts.

Ordered a munch box, which in comparison to other munch boxes from local takeaways, is small. Portions are also small in size and number.

Ribs were probably 80% fat and by ribs, I mean 1 rib cut into small pieces, what little meat the rib had, also tasted old. Chicken balls for some unknown reason are cut in half, then fried, making them practically inedible and dry. Chicken strips were nice, but small. Salt and pepper chicken was nice, but we only got 5 pieces of it.

Thankfully as a first order we got £5 off, but it certainly isn’t worth the money.

We've had a few meals since they took over and the food was good. However tonight the curry seemed very sweet - may be sugar had been put where the salt should have been Also I phoned to ask for a dish not on the menu. They told me they could do it and then when tried to order they said is it on the menu ?? Or the trolley if you are old enough to remember...

I have a usual chinese but decided to give this one a go as it is under new management. Safe to say I won't be going again. They forgot the "free" prawn crackers. I had my usual that I have every week from another chinese, Salt & pepper squid, seaweed and quarter of crispy duck. Absolutely everything was so salty I couldn't eat it and had to throw...
