I googled Thai massage by me and this place was suggested. Looked at the reviews which seemed favourable and they are round the corner, back is in knots so let’s give it a go !
Turned up on time with cash ready, in fact I had £60 just in case it was expensive.
On arrival I find it’s in Blackheath in a little high St. next to Sainsbury’s. I try the door it’s locked. And she appears, Luck, I presume. She brings me in and directs me to sit down in a chair in the reception area. Where I pass the first room where a older masseuse pops her head out. Oh nice , I can speak Thai and she looks like she doesn’t speak much English. I sit down.
This is where things go down hill quickly.
I’ve been working 14 hours a day for the last 6 days and this is my first day off. I woke up At midday and am in a quiet mood. Imagine my mood when instead of the quiet and serenity of a massage shop and the promise of getting the knots out of my back I get what’s actually coming.
“ Excuse me !! Excuse me !! “ does this speaker have to be so loud ?? !! I shout over the noise of a large blue tooth speaker she has positioned in this reception area on full blast, to the point of distortion.
Then a customer emerges from the other room. I ask him is the noise as loud in the room as it is out here ? He smiles and say no. She directs me to the vacant room. I’m now having second thoughts. I ask her again “ Do we have to have the ‘ sounds of the forests ‘ music so loud ? She explains that she has two rooms to annoy with it and it’s ok in the room. I explain to her that the customers don’t really need this and I’ve had lots of massages with out it. She then says “ no the customer need it “. At this point I can see there is no reasoning with her and as someone who is not partial to blasting music 🎶 in a relaxing Massage environment that I know I’m going to be subjected to on leaving and literally running out the door I decide to put forward my case for leaving. She says OK 👍 and I’m out into the street with my money and sanity still with me.
If your expecting a calming experience with the aromatic smells and maybe a wind chime chiming away I’d dip out on this one. On the other hand if you looking for the experience similar to walking into a busy Oriental cuisine restaurant kitchen mid service then make you way...
Read moreI have been a regular here and have always been on time. However, on this occasion I was 7 mins late and was approached by a different therapist to the one I had booked. I had to visit the cash point prior to this as they don't accept card payment (which could have saved time). On previous occasions, I've had to wait in reception for up to 15 mins till a room is ready.
I asked for the therapist I had booked, to be told 'she's with a customer' (this doesn't make sense, as I'm also a customer and I had pre-booked and she could have easily waited?).
They asked me to enter the massage room and I asked for the therapist again to be told 'it's your fault' for coming late and could only do 50 mins. So I went ahead without arguing.
The massage was rushed and unpleasant. Complete silence all the way through and did not get asked where I had pain. I came out the room after the massage and the therapist sat down at reception with no customers after me (she could have easily done the full hour).
This is the reason I didn't book with Kat in the first place, she's grumpy and disrespectful. I had also tried to book the previous day with no success.
Seems like the busier they are getting, the less...
Read moreLuck Thai Massage in Blackheath celebrated its first anniversary this week. I am pleased to have found and to recommend Kat for her Thai Massage treatment, which initially was to help with my severe migraines. This was successful. Kat uses a variety of massage techniques working at a breathless pace whilst applying care and focus to troubling spots and knots. Whether it is pressing, stretching, rubbing or using hot stones I always feel re-energised and taller after her treatments. The friendly welcome complements her professional skills. The pace, depth & intensity is great if you want a deeper massage. All whilst offering great value at a reasonable price. So glad to have discovered Kat in 2023 and to recommend...
