The Britannia - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in Sandwell

I ordered a cocktail pitcher, the bar man handed me the pitcher and there was a fly in it.. all I asked was for a fresh one as there should not of been a fly in my drink. The server took my drink to the back and picked the fly out come back and handed me my drink... I then said excuse me I have asked for a fresh one... They then said no we don't know where the fly has come from.

My point is if you order food without sauce and they bring your food with sauce are they going to scrape the sauce off and hand the burger back to you... NO they are not.

I then asked for the manager for him to be standing next to the bloke who served me and then howl your so rude... Watch your tone with me or your going to leave... I then went to say sorry if I was coming across rude all we wanted was a fresh drink due to the fly. He then got quite rude and told me my attitude stinks and to leave. I work in a hospitality environment so I would never be rude.

It's absolutely disgusting how management have made people feel so ln front of other customers. It is bang out of order for him to embarrass me Infront of customers. I suffer with serious anxiety and for me to even say excuse me there's a fly in my drink is a big thing for me and I got made to feel scum...

Food awful , if they had half a star that would be pushing the praise . Pub manager extremely RUDE ! I have updated from the managers response who seems to be polite today and not slamming phones down . I had a coupon for a free meal which the pub manager at the time gave me as the past meal was awful . The manager refused to take it as he said it was out of date even though there was no expire date on it . Even though I had called in a couple of weeks prior to check . My friend and I went else where to dine of our own choice . I called the Britannia for the email to complain to the head office the “pub manager “ said “website “ refused to give me his name and slammed the phone down on me . I then complained to Wetherspoons who said that Itje pub manager had said I been “abusive “ an had been barred from going in , I have now taken it further as this is defamation of character & slander & he cannot going around making these sort of lies up it up especially when I have witnesses & no I have not...

Have enjoyed meals at this pub before but had terrible customer service today. Went with a 96 year old lady and my sister and husband. We asked for meals on 2 for 1 but because we did not say 'small' before word scampi that meal and the steak and kidney pudding were on higher price. Only realised when looked at receipt. When we went to question the manager said: ' you've eaten it now'. I did not know how many scampi for large but I only had aprox 8 and small number of chips! It was not the £4 extra we were angry about but the way we were treated. Surely when someone says 2 for 1 it is obvious what we wanted. No good will from manager Jonny. I can assure him he won't save £4 from this visit, he has lost customers for good! Very disappointed! Really spoilt...
