Swanley New Barn Railway — Local services in Sevenoaks

What a great find and conveniently local. We've already visited twice and it is worth it each time. It is £4.50 all day parking or £1.50/hr if not mistaken. There is an option to catch a short train ride from the car park to Swanley Park for £1.50 (single) or £2.00 (return). It also possible to walk the short journey too but we are there to ride the train, observe it, study it, watch it, run after it, run after it some more on repeat. Admittedly, I am just as excited as our 2yr old who does not tire at simply following the train's every move. Because he loves the train so much, he is content at just being near the station. The station is within viewing distance and so we have a good view on the grass to watch the train arrive and depart. I believe the the steam train runs during the weekend though but I am not certain. Oh my goodness. What a beautiful miniature rail journey experience. Just awesome to bring kids to pass any beautiful day. Return train journey only 1.50 for adults and under 3 years free. Must have a visit with your kids for a beautiful experience. Park is also well worth valuable time. The nice lake has a boating option. The waterpark is very good and suitable for any summer day. However, I will recommend weekdays if possible for an easy parking option, as my visit was on a bank holiday and struggled with parking. All day...

What a hidden gem! Railway ride from one part of the park to another was lovely and good value. Lots for kids to do, splashing pools, playground, climbing, boating on the lake etc. Lots of grounds to have a picnic and didn't feel crowded at all despite the number of people there.
