Worst coffee I've ever had, by a country mile. The person doing the coffees had a large jug where they dumped 'burnt' milk in. There was zero foam on the coffee and the babycino was literally just warm milk, no foam, so the chocolate dusting had literally dissolved by the time it took to bring it to the table. Food selection was awful, no mac & cheese, nor a lot of the other stuff you usually expect. Food was cut by the same knife (one toaster had meat, the other didn't) and there wasn't even a wipe of the knife before after, or in between. This has to be a franchise, there's no way it's an officially ran Costa. I even suspected that it was a fake Costa judging by the coffee & sickly seet milk they used. Very strange experience. Found a hair in our cake. The sandwiches were left sitting on the counter whilst the drinks were being made & there were staff members leaning over it talking & touching the plates unnecessarily. Read moreNice small branch to socialise with friends/family but the coffee is horrendous, anyone from Europe would be shocked at the quality, it's not just this branch in particular but the whole chain, I have no idea why management allow such mediocrity to persist nationwide.
The latte was boiled milk essentially but the cappuccino was burnt completely, retraining the staff for the entire chain is needed however people continue to go so there will be no change in quality.
And 4 pound for a cappuccino in a takeaway cup...
Read moreI was desperate to use the loo, so as ASDA now has no toilets (not even sure if this is allowed?) I decided to use the one in Costa.
A standard white coffee came in at £3.50!!! And this in a paper cup!!! Nothing to wash up or break...but £3.50 straight in the till.
As a point of interest...I worked on the team that built this square... I'm guessing in 1974? Hard to believe that it's nearly 50 years ago!
