Wonderful — Local services in Sheffield

Wow! We were on the look out for a new Chinese after our old favourite stopped delivering to our area.

Came across Wonderful Chinese before when we visited family and they are the only Chinese we have seen to have tofu dishes on the menu which my partner wanted to try, but it wasn't open on the day we chose. Luckily this time it was.

I saw they had their own app which you can download for apple or android and upon signing up you get 20% off and a reward card for future orders.

We were quoted around an hour and 10 mi utes for delivery however food came after around 30 minutes, delivery driver seemed very friendly also.

Salt and pepper chips - had flavour but were not too over powering which I have seen with other places.

Chicken fried rice - rice was nice and fluffy and the chicken was cooked perfectly and in nice small strips rather than a couple of big chunks.

Tofu with mixed veg - my partner loved and has the left overs saved ready to eat tomorrow. I tried the tofu and if this was sold in a curry or a rice I would definitely tely have it as an alternative to chicken.

Curry sauce - nice strong flavour but not overly spicy.

Overall everything was nice, hot and fresh. Flavour was great.

I am so so disgusted with the wonderful Chinese. We placed an order through just eat and was told it would be delivered within a hour and a half, which we thought was a long time but never thought anymore about it, 2 hours went by and the takeaway was still not delivered we called the wonderful Chinese to then find out they had delivered the Chinese to the incorrect address and had been accepted by a complete stranger, (obviously being the wonderful Chinese’s mistake) which is understandable mistakes happen. We then asked for a refund on the food as we had no food to eat but paid £17 for. They refused to refund and told us to ring just eat directly. I then went on to call just eat and explain the situation, they put me on hold and phoned the wonderful Chinese to be told that they refuse to give me a refund and are not prepared to do so. So now we are left with no dinner and £17 down. I am absolutely furious with the wonderful Chinese for the customer service. They haven’t taken responsibility for delivering the food to the wrong address. I work in customer service my self and have done for quite a while and never ever would we get away with such things. I will never ever be ordering...

Like many above, I wish I'd looked at the reviews first and their hygiene rating! Absolutely terrible, our food cost an absolute fortune, for tiny almost meatless ribs, the chips were refried day old at least! The curry sauce was watery and far too spicy. We order beef fried rice without egg, it came crammed with egg and two tiny bits of some kind of meat that was certainly not beef!. The chow mein came in the smallest tub ever. Now, usually if you order over a decent amount, you get prawn crackers free and are usually a huge bag, since it didn't say anything about freebies, I ordered some at a cost of TWO POUND FIFTY!! they came in the smallest bag I've ever seen and I counted 9! The only nice thing was the crispy chilli beef, however, there wasn't a lot of this either. We paid £50 for a family of 4 with the expectation of leftovers, there was barely enough to go around the four of us for tea! Hugely disappointed and annoyed at the value for money. Avoid...
