Looks beautiful but looks aren't the most important thing about a shop. I went in to treat myself as I had just been saying goodbye to my dog forever and hoped to find a present to me from him and a rose to plant in his memory The shop looked lovely, locals warned me it was an expensive shop and they were right it has top end prices. Overpriced for what I got and the service received.

I bought a eating and a cooking apple not cheap but looked good until I got home and cut the cooking apple and needed to throw alot more than would usually be expected away. Sweet corn rhubarb. Two expensive cheese portions pitch fork cheddar a small price at £7.01.expensive but my choice I liked the name haven't seen it in London so agreed and took the cheese which has a reasonable use by date I then told the girls on the deli that I had a long way to go and my things would be in my car longer than usual so needed to keep i all cool pretty quick i ordered Somerset brie and I was told it was £2.40 which it wasn't that had been the weight as I discovered when I got home in London it was in fact £6.84 with a virtually use it now sell by date.it was very overpriced also for that type of shop and their charges I would expect to be told the sell by date. With good dilligent service on a fresh deli counter I would have liked to have been alerted that it was very soon due to expire so that I could possibly pick something else or buy in the knowledge I had to eat it post haste or buy a smaller piece and use it quickly.plus the journey on a warm day would shorten the cheeses life it would have fared better had it a reasonable use by date sitting alongside my efforts to keep it cool. The attendant made me wait she had no other customers and I had to call her back inbetwen each item. However she was friendly we hich is something

I went in the garden centre section and found a selection of plants on at half price and as I was buying a rose bush and other plants I was in the centre and had to pass the cheap plants I took a look there was no name no care instructions and they were un-watered Bearing in mind this is a top end shop with top end prices I would expect staff to be dilligent plesent helpful not pay high prices and have staff with little time less than little care and uncared for plants. Whether half price or full price if the shop took pride in its contents would look after all of its products and its customers. The attendant wasn't at the till she was fiddling with something maybe tidying up and saw me but I still had to ask if I was at the right till or were there other tills I hadn't seen. She came to serve but was giving attention to someone else I asked about the half price plant and was told didn't you look for someone to help you I told her I had but hadn't seen anyone. Her she told me she had no idea in a harressed time saying ' how would I know and why didn't you ask yourself both of which are not high end treat yourself in our shop and enjoy the experience in any way shape or form. I can't even compare her to the well known in every high street German retailers as they treat their customers well so don't know who to compare the staff in this shop to except difficult unresponsive unhelpful most especially the lady on the till. Who called the garden centre manager who was helpful plesent and polite thankfully. I also bought a compost bin again over priced but I was willing because I wanted to do something plesent where folk would be nice so I put prices out of my head until I saw the apple was still stinging from the till attendant and saw the large price and close sell by date on the cheese. If I go there to that area again I will avoid Bury...

Thank you for your response. In regards to times we got there juat before 1 30. The table you had reserved was for 2:15. We were made to wait and other groups were seated before us that were queued behind. I understand that the group were late...but we were seated before 2 15. So had we been sat at the reserved table......another would have become free for you to seat the 2 15 group at. That said, we were finished before they even arrived. And it had passed 2 30 at this point. Again after shopping for a bit we see the table was still free. So your comments of (we hold a table for 30 minutes) was wrong. But still great to let down other customers in respect of people not keeping to their appointments. One that they could have still had at a different table.

Again with the food we did bring this up when it was brought to the table. But with the reaction I was met with and then followed with "i can get a manager" didnt sit right with me. The poor girl looked like she didnt even want to be there. And her attitude showed.

I did not wish to have money off. I do not wish to return. So when I brought the poor state of your food into my review.....that's all it was.....a review. I didnt want anything off the bill. I wanted to pay and leave. And never return Had a poor experience with the cafe here.

Firstly 2 groups behind us in the queue were served as there wasn't a big enough table free. There was a reserved table which was reserved for 45 minutes later. We were eventually seated. After ordering kids pancakes, 30 minutes later we see them emptying pancakes from a packet onto the plates. We were unaware of why this took 30 minutes. Especially being ordered from the kids menu.

I ordered the soup amd burger. The bun was solid and inedible along with the actual patty. I did not eat this. Upon trying my soup starter I also didnt like this. I also didnt eat this. Children also disliked their packet pancakes. The only edible thing were the mac and cheese bites. So if you do have the displeasure of going here. Maybe order those?

When I brought these issues up after paying, I was told that party is still arriving as they're coming from London. At this point I just said well, maybe they could have had our table? As now we've finished and they still...

Quite disappointed as we went there just for tulip tapping, my little girl was excited with her bag packed with a scissor in it for tulips . When reached they said its closed for the season and there is no information about it on the website. They should update the website, if its closed and tickets are non refundable. Complete waste of the day.

As ,I am unable to reply to the response by the owner of Bury Lane Fun Barn.I am editing my initial review to add the response.

-First of all ,thanks for replying. I hope you also spend time editing your webpage with the up-to-date info as well. As on until the day of our visit we haven't seen any updates on tulip closures on the booking web page. I agree now as I have seen the information for tulip closing was made on Fb page in advance. But ,just to let you know that not everyone is on Fb or Insta. I am myself a computer engineer ,but don't have time to follow fb pages for each places we would like to visit. We opened the webpage and there wasn't anything there about tulips being closed and we made the booking.

So, please keep this in mind that the business webpage should always be updated with any changes. Suggestion, I have seen at many business that you can add on your webpage that your fb/Insta pages are always updated , so please check them regularly.

On ticketing, as we (6 families) arrived with 8 kids, Main reason tulip tapping, there wasn't any reason they will not play in the soft play center, so we have to buy the tickets. But if we knew there weren't any tulips (as we couldn't manage to get tickets for Norfolk tulips) we would have thought or planned differently.

I hope you understand how you feel when you plan for something and on a surprise find something else just due to lack of proper communication.

We been to fun barn 2 times before also and...
