This was my first time at Allure and I had booked in for builder gel nails and a 60 minute massage Firstly the girls were lovely I was acknowledged as soon as I arrived and offered a drink which was lovely. However when it came to my nails I had one girl prep one hand and then a second girl came and finished the manicure I thought that was a bit odd and If they were running over I’d rather be told and just wait for my therapist, I wouldn’t have minded. The girl that finished my manicure was chatty and professional. I went for the colour coconut and it is lovely but once I got home and started doing my normal jobs I found they are quite bulky and could of done with a file over the top to help smooth them down slightly. At the salon they looked good but wishing I had properly checked them over now before leaving.

After my nails I was asked to fill out a paper consultation for the massage before heading to the treatment room, this was around 1730. My therapist didn’t verbally confirm any details or ask if I had any questions it was a case of getting straight on the bed face up. I was given an old towel to cover myself and the room actually faces onto the nail desks so I could hear all the chatter. The room itself while decorated nicely is super tiny, I’m not sure how a therapist could carry out a massage comfortably with such little space. My therapist came back in and began the treatment and the pressure was great, she gave a consistent firm pressure all throughout and had put heated boots on my feet which I thought was a nice touch. However I would have liked a pillow under my knees and something over my eyes as the room was quite bright and being able to hear others having their nails done, I wasnt able to really relax. I wasn’t asked if I was comfortable or if the pressure was ok but luckily I was comfortable and the pressure was spot on. When I was asked to turn over she left the room for a quite a while which I found odd as I’ve never known that to happen, I was lying face down for what felt like ages before she came back. She began to massage my legs however had exposed both legs but only worked on one at a time, I would have preferred to only have one leg out at a time and with there not being a bed heater the room did get quite cold. My treatment finished and I was out the salon by 1820, with me having booked a 60 minute treatment I am disappointed that I didn’t actually get a 60 minute treatment, I think it was more around the 40/45 minute mark. It is a shame as the therapist was good at the massage itself but not having them little things that make a treatment more client centred and leaving the room a few times took away from...

So I went into the salon to have builder gel done for the first time - I must admit Olivia who done my nails was a lovely girl and did do a good job of the nails overall, however, the issue occurred when using the file she did accidentally catch me a couple of times with the file - which I can appreciate - but when you leave the salon after paying a total of £55 for a set of builder gel nails and your skin around the nails is red raw and sore to even put into water, I really don’t feel as though the price is reflecting their standards. So when I then continued to give this feed back via instagram to their direct page I had an immediate response which again - did not reflect their expertise, I was told by whoever was texting me on their page which I can only imagine to be the owner, then blamed potential medication I could be on? - baring in mind I’m on no medication, she also said that because I had just previously took nails off this caused it, but again… if they had expertise and knew my nails were not good enough to carry work out they should have sent me away.

We then got past that and she asked how she could rectify the issue, I then asked for a partial refund, to which she said that she doesn’t do refunds and if I did want one she needs to remove my nails to do so… which I agreed and I said I was happy to pop into salon - this was all in the space of one minute (fast replies on both ends) and she then says all of a sudden she is out of hours - which seems coincidental to me - so couldn’t now talk… so clearly this is showing lack of accountability and personally I think the way the situation was dealt with was like it was my fault?

So my issue lies more now with how the situation was dealt with and how they tried...

I'm so disappointed in my experience here. The good point was it was easy to get in and have my patch test before the appointment and the girl I spoke to was so friendly My experience today was unfortunately not the same. People were walking in and out of the treatment room while I was having my treatment My lash tech seemed to stop and sit in silence with no explanation of what she was doing for long periods of time. When the lashes were finished I wasn't given a mirror to look in and was offered to lean over the treatment bed to look in the mirror on the wall. When I got to the car and looked in the mirror, one of the lashes on my left eye was glued to the eyelid and fell off when I touched it leaving a gap. I went straight back in and it was fixed no problem but my right eye is uneven and there's a gap. So sad because I was really looking forward to my lashes being done for my holiday and I thought I'd be getting a really professional service here
