We've all been at a loss for what to do this past year as we try to find new things to try and new places to walk. One member of the community has decided to combine these staples of lockdown life.
We now have The Great Defecation Bench of Hertfordshire stationed in The Wick. As you can see by the sign; this only happens sometimes and it is not guaranteed, but possible. On sunny days you can see families in a scene reminiscent of Easter Egg hunts that we saw in pre covid times. Perhaps you would like to get a selfie with the sign to show your friends and family or perhaps you want to try and snap a photograph of this elusive event in action, as so far the only snaps taken have been comparable to those of Big Foot and UFOs. As vandalism is a rising problem in recent years please note that CCTV has been placed to dissuade vandals from making The Bench a target in their anti-social behaviour. If you are walking in the area then your list of excuses not to see this local oddity really is pretty short. There are ditches which after heavy rain can fill with water. Small play area for young kids. Fully enclosed except for one exit on south side near play park. Paths Can be musty after rain.
