Booked an Arrive and Drive slot with my 8 year old son and 10 year old daughter. Arrived to sour faced reception staff and almost zero staff interaction with us. Went to get racesuits on and struggled to find any that fit, staff member that was in there did not offer any help, only when approached did he help out with suggestions, and that was pretty reluctantly. Went back to reception as no one told us where to go, and was informed that we had to go upstairs and watch a safety video. Sat in the briefing room for 15 minutes, nobody came. Went back down to check what was happening, was told that the TV was not working properly but should be fine now. Realised no one gives you a talk, it is automated through the TV. Had the laughable safety briefing and then was grunted at by a track marshal to get a helmet and get ready as we were next on track. Again, no help with sizing, so was generally trial and error. I paid for 36 laps each, with balaclavas and gloves, which came to £110!! Didn't realise these laps would be split into 3 separate 10 minute races, as the website and staff do not tell you beforehand. The first 2 races were pretty good: it was just the three of us, the cars were fast and the marshalls were very quick and safety aware. Then without warning, on our last race, after the first lap, another family joined us on the track. These people, a "man" and woman plus 2 teenage bullies, then preceded to bump and bash my children off the track, highfiving as they did so. This resulted in my kids ending their first karting experience in tears. The final race actually ended when the man rear ended me into a barrier because I overtook him, and so the red lights came on. This guy was clearly a moron, and his kids liked picking on smaller children half their age, very impressive. No apology afterwards either I asked one of the marshalls afterwards why they allowed such aggressive driving with small children on the track, and he said "racing is allowed", even when their own signs upstairs say "arrive and drive rules: you are not permitted to race others, you are only racing the against the clock". One of the answers from the company below on another review states that "children will only be out there against other children". Another states that "you will be removed from the race if you ignore safety rules". This is all clearly false. So the afternoon ended, cut short through no fault of our own. We were not offered any money back, and no concern was shown at all towards my clearly upset children. I would not recommend Anglian Indoor Karting, especially not for younger kids who haven't been before. The staff are generally not bothered, and you never know when someone may come and try to physically harm you or your children as they try to have fun with something new.
EDIT - I see the company have now tried to downplay the incidents in the third and final race as "racing incidents". This is patently false, as I was rammed from behind into a barricade which resulted in the race having to be red flagged and ended early. My daughter injured her hand, and my 8 year old son was visibly upset as he had been bashed about by the man and older kids in the moron family. I left my concerns with a member of staff on the way out as we were under time constraints to get home promptly. He should have forwarded them on to a manager. Maybe you should train your staff better. I am happy to come back and re-enact Mad Max: Fury Road, as it seems that is the safety standard at this establishment. Disgusting that you would try to downplay this behaviour from clearly aggressive and irresponsible customers, and your own incompetence and inaction on the day...
Read moreExtremely Disappointing Experience – Would Strongly Advise Avoiding
My colleague and I regularly travel across the UK for work and make a point of visiting go-karting tracks in different regions—both indoor and outdoor—so we’ve experienced a fair share of what the UK has to offer. Unfortunately, our recent visit to Anglia Indoor Karting was by far one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences we’ve ever had at any karting facility.
Firstly, the cost was absolutely outrageous. We booked online for two sessions, paying around £50 each, only to find out that this equated to just 10 laps per session on what is easily one of the smallest and least engaging tracks we’ve ever encountered. Unlike most tracks where you’re charged based on time (e.g., 2x 15 minute sessions), here you’re charged per lap, which felt like a complete rip-off. When we worked it out, we ended up paying £2.50 per lap, which is absurd given the underwhelming quality of the track and experience.
To make matters worse, the marshalling was shockingly poor—only one marshal for the entire track. This not only raised serious safety concerns, but also meant there was no proper supervision or control during the sessions. We also noticed that the karts were being remotely slowed down during the laps, which completely ruins the spirit of competitive karting.
We expressed our concerns politely to the staff, including asking for a refund for the second session, but were met with zero sympathy or accountability. The manager’s attitude was dismissive and unhelpful, showing no interest in addressing our feedback or even acknowledging that the setup was not up to standard.
In hindsight, we really regret not reading the reviews before attending. This was by far the worst managed track we’ve visited in the UK, and we left feeling thoroughly disappointed—not just by the cost and track quality, but by the overall lack of professionalism and customer care.
If you’re passionate about karting or simply looking for a decent experience, do your research and consider one of the bigger, better-known names in the area. Avoid Anglia Indoor Karting at all costs—unless you enjoy overpaying for subpar laps, poor safety standards, and zero customer...
Read moreMy 5 year old son previously attended this karting venue every weekend. We took a short break and returned last Sunday for the 9.30am slot. It appeared extremely busy, and due to the fact that my son has autism the long waiting periods caused him upset and stress. We arrived at 9.10 and didn’t get invited on the track for the briefing until 09.50. Then my son was asked to sit in a car, assuming he would go around the track. He was then asked to vacate the car as he was put down for the second group. He burst into tears and was so upset. After the upset he just wanted to leave, as did I… until a nice child agreed to swap with him. I was livid with how unorganised the business is. All the waiting around, it’s not good enough. What also is not good enough is the fact that you have experienced drivers like my son , who doesn’t need the “slow” practice run each time. In fact sometimes when we have booked four slots, 3 of those are slow and one is fast! It’s terrible. He gets no enjoyment from that. Why can’t they organise the track better? Put groups into new and experienced? Offer a club which kids can be part of if they are regulars and run separate public and club sessions? It honestly is a shambles. The only positive thing about the business is the woman that serves on reception, she is wonderful. The Marshalls do their best to accommodate, but unfortunately the management is extremely poor and we will never be back again. Why is there no provision for children with additional needs? Why are all the suits dirty, tired and needing to be replaced? Why is the suit rail broken and falling onto people; why are things like this not dealt with? When they are receiving £15 for a 15 min session you would think they would be re investing into the business? I asked for a full refund for the rubbish session, this was declined. I have a further session booked for the following weekend which I asked for a refund and was told as a good will gesture they would refund it! Good will gesture?! Please keep the money and buy a new suit rail! We won’t be back. Oh I forgot to mention I’ve witnessed a few accidents on the age 5-7 track, children that have been injured … personally I would find another track to take...
