I have attended yoga with Alice both for pregnancy classes and mum and baby classes. Firstly I’d like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the pregnancy yoga. Alice was very welcoming and every class allows mums to get to know each other. The classes are very supportive and it’s always reassuring to know that there are others experiencing the same things as you. The classes suited my style and were very relaxing and not too strenuous. They really helped to engage with breathing techniques and positions to help get through the big day. I felt like I was prepared for when that day came as I continued practice at home. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere and wonderfully supportive. It was always a very welcome part to my Thursday evenings after a long day at work. The mum and baby yoga has also been a lovely experience. Both my daughter and I have really enjoyed the classes and I truly feel saddened that we’ve reached a point not to continue (my little one now being quite mobile and fiercely independent). It has been a wonderful bonding experience for my daughter and I and helped create a sense of calm for the afternoon that followed, which was always nice. I have adopted some of the positions and movement phrases with my daughter at home and I can see the benefits on her. I have made some good friends out of the class - which has been so beneficial to me living in an area where I knew nobody else. It has been excellent at forming supportive networks and Alice facilitated this brilliantly. The best part is the weekly tea and cake at the end of the class which Alice makes for you. She creates a calm and relaxed environment in which to enjoy some safe, gentle exercise and bond with your baby bump. She also opens up the room to conversation with other expectant mums where you can discuss pregnancy-related discomforts and joy, bringing a sense of community to the group. I would thoroughly recommend this class if you are expecting a baby! Once my baby had arrived we joined Lisa for Mum and Baby Yoga - again I would highly recommend this class! There is yoga for baby which is a lovely bonding experience with your baby followed by some highly beneficial yoga for mum, working on all areas that have become weakened by pregnancy, labour and the physical demands of carrying a newborn baby around all day. I loved the Pregnancy Yoga classes taken by Alice and always looked forward to that bit of ‘me time’ in the week - a chance to meet other expectant Mums and to stretch and relax. My son was born 2 months early, before I'd even started NCT classes, so I was very grateful for the breathing and relaxation techniques that Alice had taught us. We then attended Mum and Baby Yoga. Lisa fosters a really friendly and supportive environment where it doesn't matter whether your baby 'joins in' with the yoga, sleeps, feeds or cries.
