Very disappointed with the service received. I've been taking my now nearly 2 years old Welsh Terrier to The Dog House since she was a puppy. She has progressively gotten worse with her grooming sessions and after each groom is very anxious, skittish and distressed for a good few days.

The charges have increased from £40 to £50 and now £70 for her latest groom. I have never been informed of what the charges will be beforehand and was shocked when she came out completely shaven and told it would cost me £70. I had given her a bath the previous day so they wouldn't need to, further she was only in the groomers for 1.5 hours, completely shaved, no shaping/styling and I was charged £70. She doesn't even look like a Welsh Terrier anymore!

The staff member I dealt with when I collected her was very unfriendly, stand offish and rude when I queried the £70 charge (given she is such a small dog and I had been given no prior notice that it would cost me this much). I was distraught when I got her home and she was also clearly distressed. We phoned them to explain we were not happy with the service provided and amount charged. Despicable service. Our dog is very anxious & has been going to the Dog House for a number of months on a tranquil Tuesday. All previous times we have been pleased but this Tuesday incomplete groom head, ears, legs & belly not done all for £50. They will not accept that the have provided an inadequate service

In response to your comments we realise she is very anxious & can be difficult that is why she has medication from the vets to help her with this. When she was collected the so-called groomer said she had been good & only got stressed when they started on her head. My issue is that her belly & legs were not done. Groomer should be able to deal with all sorts of behaviours. We have asked for a regroom or part refund which has been ignored.

I have been informed by my daughter that you are incorrect in your reply that you have logged 10 calls in 24 hours. Our dogs needs are very important to us. When collecting her we were told that she had been good & only got stressed when they started on the head. Every time beforehand we have been told she has been OK & not once have we been informed that she has "issues" that warrant her not to be groomed at...

We love, love, love The Dog House....as does our dog! The staff are all really lovely and we're always very pleased with the finished groom (both when he has been hand stripped and clipped). Our boy has a health condition that we have to manage carefully and the medication has changed his coat completely. The team at the Dog House have been really understanding and helpful. He is always absolutely desperate to get in, doesn't look back as he bolts through the gate to the grrom room! When we collect him he's always full of beans!
