This is my favorite place to hike locally. You can take bikes, pets on a leash, or hike by foot. The trail is about 3.5 miles long and most of it is on a peninsula with water boarding on one side and hills, rocks, or trees on the other side. There are maps throughout the trail to guide you, as well as benches and picnic tables scattered throughout. Absolutely beautiful place to hike. Most of the trail is pretty flat, so I would consider it an easy trail. I've taken my 74 year old mother and my 9 year old nephew on this trail.

Fantastic 3.5 mile loop for hiking or biking. This is not an aggressive mountain bike trail so much as a packed gravel, dirt, and leaves trail you can bike on. There are lots of people walking their dogs on the trail and frequent views of the lack. Parking is $5 and limited to about 30-40 cars. Make sure you look up directions to the trail head on google maps because it is not through the main park entry.

It pains me to say this because I love iron hill trail. It's the one that I visit the most. The people at the booth know me so well they just wave me thru because they know I have a yearly pass. BUT......the entrance to the parking lot is like driving through the worst pot hole filled road in downtown Atlanta. It would take nothing but a few of bags of gravel to fill in those holes but they've gotten worse and worse over the last few years. Please, park service, buy some gravel and fill those...
