Rink doesn’t take temps at the door and does a poor job of enforcing social distancing protocols. Even when you reserve ice a week in advance they will not honor your reservation, the skating director at that rink is disorganized and will lash out at coaches and skaters when she gets pressure from her management. I’ve seen it happen a number of times. Addison has been our home rink for the past 3 years. On Friday I was pulled off a session I reserved a week in advance yet when I showed up I was told I had to coach my 6 year old daughter from the boards because I don’t coach for a living! I have the same USFSA coaching certifications and insurance as any other coach trying to get on that day. I paid my fees and invested in getting my coaching certification and insurance just so I could coach my daughter and avoid rink conflict. The time I spend in a rink is time I’m not making money at my livelihood but I choose to prioritize my 6 year daughter and her love for skating. That doesn’t make me less of a coach. What’s the point in reserving ice ahead of time if the rink is just going to over allocate slots regardless. Rink is dirty and the ice is nasty. My daughter gets white paint all over her skating clothes from the ice. If you have the option to skate at another rink I recommend you do so. Addison doesn’t have a moral compass and could careless if any of their employees on staff discriminates against a fellow long time patron...
Read moreAll I can say is parking is terrible! If you're going to hold a big tournament make sure you have the parking capacity to do so! There was a traffic jam just trying to find a spot. They put us in the basement locker rooms it was all damp and moldy down there and leaking water everywhere! Also it smelled something awful! I understand there locker rooms and they do smell but I've been to a lot and lot of rinks around the United States and this one took the crown for smelliest! Freezing in the bleachers with no heat. Basically the place is falling apart. Only reason they got three stars is because the ice was just ok and they have a restaurant. They do also serve alcohol at the bar. I don't drink so I ordered a Coke and got a dirty look at the bar from the tender. She said something along the line there's vending machines outside if you just wanted a coke. I basically just wanted to check it out I still tipped her for pouring my coke. Unfortunately got to go back here two more times...
Read moreI have played hockey here before and I previously enjoyed this rink, but when I came here tonight with some friends I was surprised at how bad public skate was. One of my friends had 2 pairs of skates that were unusable, and they were the only pairs in her size; another had a pair that had edges that weren't symmetrical, and all of the pairs we got were barely sharpened, even compared to my skates which haven't been sharpened in months. The one saving grace is the staff member we talked with, Salem, was absolutely fantastic and I genuinely can't thank them enough for helping my friends and I out. They were super sweet and understanding and honestly the best part...
