I use to go to the salon when I was a student at UCF in 2015-2016. Although they always did a good job, I never returned after my last blowout with them because I initially thought they fried my hair from all the heat. Turns out whoever washed my hair last time snuck relaxer in my hair. Iâm not sure if the owners were aware of that but that is still really bad for business. I have well taken care of kinky hair. It was such a stressful time in my life that I didnât even realize that the lady even put relaxer in my hair until recently. It all makes sense why the lady let me stay under the dryer for a very short period of time and seemed anxious and sneaky when the hairdresser was complimenting how well the deep treatment worked on my hair. I remember going home and telling my husband that my hair smelled like relaxer and quickly brushing it off, not really thinking much about it because I didnât think anybody would have the audacity to do that. Shortly after that salon visit I ended up in a predicament where I was in hot humid rainy weather for several hours and my hair somehow stayed bone straight. Then for my graduation in 2017 I went to another salon and they told me I had new growth when I havenât put relaxer in my hair since 2011. The hairdresser even insinuated that somebody mightâve put something in my hair. Still brushed it off. Finally in 2019 I decided to do a big chop because half of my head was a different texture than the rest of my hair. I just thought that was how my hair was but after cutting it, letting it grow out, and fully recuperating from that stressful time in my life. I know realized itâs because they snuck relaxer in my hair. So sad. Canât even trust your own people with your hair. I guess the lady viewed my natural hair as a problem and felt inclined to âfix itâ by putting a cancer-causing chemical in my hair without my knowledge. I honestly feel so disrespected because to that lady Iâm pretty sure she felt like she did nothing wrong but to me itâs a big issue because I always knew that relaxers werenât good for my health which is why I stopped using them. Be safe...
Read moreHey I find it funny that a person can sit in a place that they describe as so awful. Hmmmm let me think with my Infinite intelligence on this one. Would I sit and wait for my hair to be done in a place where I'm not treated in a way i feel fair, then turn around and let this person touch the most noticeable part of my head. My precious hair. Then on top of that pay you. Lol. Hmmmmmm I think not. So clearly this was over $10 dollars. Girl i Usually tip you $10. She's one of those people that shop at Ross, then when they get to the counter they hold up the entire line, just so they can call the manager to the front to get an extra discount on a shirt that's missing a button. Lol you shopping at a clothing store that sells irregular items. duh. some people.
Bottom Line. Your the best stylist in orlando. I've been in orlando for over 30 yrs. I been to salons on the east west north and south. Hands down you take care of Hair and not just do hair like some stylist. I've gone from can't grow hair to long hair every since I've put my hair in your care. Not just me, My family and friends. and some of the clients that i've seen come in there looking like Step the F back. When you done with them they look like who the F is that. Holla. Girl keep doing your thang. Remember haters make the world go around. NOT. one last thing and i quote this from the world famous music group Earth Wind and Fire! They will smile in your face, but talk behind your back. Back Stabbers! Lol. I can tell you this no one else is gettng my money when it comes to doing hair. You have the best prices and on top of that you take care of hair not just do it. That...
Read moreSince I found this place, I have not gone to anywhere else even though itâs like 30mins far from my house. The staff is friendly, prices are fair and they have a good technique. Only giving them 4 stars because the wash could have been a better experience (seats are not that comfortable and I got wet in the process); but everything else was good. I havenât noticed damage in my hair at all and thatâs what matters to me. I have naturally long and curly hair and I straighten my hair once a month, in average, and my curls look the same and my ends donât look dry at all and Iâve been going there for about 4 months now.
08/2018 Update:
I got a cut in here that was super disappointing. I wanted to cut my ends because they were looking split. That day my regular hairstylist was off, so the lady that was there took care of my hair. The cut was poor and the blow dry as well. She only cut the longest layer and charged me $15 for that. My hair was looking the same (except for the longest layer, of course) and I had to go to another place the following week to get it cut properly. My hair was frizzy and smelled weird too. (See pictures of the day I got the first cut for comparison between their haircut and the one I got the following week). Iâm not changing the score because of this incident because maybe that lady wasnât that skilled or didnât understand hair and that doesnât mean the quality of the other hairstylists and the salon have changed. I might give them another chance later, but honestly I havenât come...
