i reallyyyy wanted to like this place..maybe i came on a bad day? i took my mother here since she was pretty excited about hearing about this place since we are both puerto rican. first off, almost EVERYTHING my mother asked for on the menu the server claimed they didnāt have the proper ingredients in stock. i get not having one or two things but 80% of what shes asking for isnāt in stock?? anyways moving forward i ordered the churrasco sandwich (on the menu it states that it includes cheese) when the server hands me my sandwich i was pretty appalled at how dry and cold the sandwich appeared. i got the impression that the chef hated his job by the way the food presentation was. i continued to have an open mind and try the sandwich anyways.. it was the most bland, cold, dry sandwich i have ever had in my life. (didnāt have any cheese on it and maybe 1/2 tablespoon of sauce? with cold āmeatā in between two slices of cold bread. for the first time in my life i think ever i actually refused to finish my food. when i asked the waiter if i could have cheese on my sandwich and a little extra sauce she looked a little confused. she went back to the kitchen and handed me a plate with a slice of cold cheese and said she charged me extra for it even though on the menu the sandwich was supposed to have cheese in the first place? REALLY wanted to like this place like i said in the beginning i tried redeeming it the best i could but there needs to be a lot of improvements in this establishment. iām very passionate about veganism and this place could really pop off if they put some more love into their food and service. unfortunately i think if they continue in this direction people will get turned away from plant based eating all together if this is their first impression of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBoriqua #Vegan Heaven at @earthykitchenfl Oy! All I did was Google Maps "vegan buffalo wings" (I had a craving lol) while down in Orlando y WEPA!!! I found the @earthykitchenfl I was hungry and in a rush. I didn't even realize it was a Puerto Rican restaurant. So what you see above is their vegan buffalo wings. Super good in house made nuggets with nice crispy french fries on the side! But the superstar player in the place was the Empanadas! When I asked the owner's sister what kind they had she gave me four options. I got one of each, for scientific researching sake of course!š So they make these the legit way with flour, then deep fry em.𤤠Sorry Columbia and other Latin American countries but corn and baked...Yo no quiero! That is too tough and steals the flavor away from the filling for me. I mean just look at those things fried to perfection, not a burnt edge in sight, beautiful bubbly, they get 5 stars just for presentation on these bad boys! But the filling, Oh my God the fillings! Beefless EmpaƱada Chikān Empanada Sweet Plantain Empanada Lentil Empanada All amazingly complex flavors consistent with legit staples of homemade Puerto Rican cookin'. The MVP for me was the sweet plantain one. It reminded me of a dish called Piñón (google it I'm running out of space haha) only wrapped in a beautiful warm n' cozy flour blanket. Do yourself a favor and go to... @earthykitchenfl Hazte un favor y ve a @earthykitchenfl A los propietarios cuidate mucho, Gracias y Dios te biendigašš Tienes miā¤ļø y mi estómago lol Congratulations on the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy Puerto Rican husband and I came here to try the vegan menu. We really enjoyed it. To us, everything was delicious! I have seen many reviews that would say otherwise, but what we had was great. Lentil empanada, jackpork entree with habichuelas and arroz con gandules, jackpork mofongo, tostones, and yuca fries. Portions were ample and we could not finish (we did order a lot). I have zero complaints about the food. It was hot and fresh. Those yuca fries š©š»āš³š! So good! Everything was flavorful. The jackfruit āporkā was amazing. The atmosphere inside is trendy and cool, but the outside is kind of run down and shadyā¦not entirely their fault what the shopping center looks like. I was not sure if this was the right place, because there is no sign for The Earthly Kitchen. The only signage is for Dā Pura Cepa, and once inside you realize they are one in the same. Iām guessing theyāve merged to reach a larger audience? So there are the vegan offerings on one side of the regular menu.
We are already talking about coming back, and bringing my husbandās family. I donāt know why there arenāt more people going here. It did take a while for an employee to emerge and acknowledge me, but I just so happened not to be in a hurry and did not mind, but I could see how others would be extremely annoyed by that. Once I got a menu, they were very...
