Albany Independent Fairgrounds — Local services in Albany

I was really impressed with the Albany Fair in 2019. It had started to go down hill in recent years. Not many jr fair participants and a general event lineup. However this year you can tell that there has been a lot of effort by the board to clean up the fair and make repairs the livestock barn is gorgeous strung with lights and hanging ferns the amusement company is small but every single ride was a quality one with kind operators who diligently pay attention and top rides if children are looking uncomfortable. The food trucks are great. Remember to stop and support the lions club food booth too. They do a lot for the community and need our support. The refresh to fair events was nice too. This year there were monster trucks, zero turn lawn mower races and skills drills, the demolition derby, truck and tractor pulls and a complete horse show with barrel races and other fun additions. Not enough food options. Rides were better than most fairs. We went on the night of the demolition derby and it was not great. Too many cars in a way too small area. Once 4 cars are out of commission they pretty much block the area so there is hardly any room...
