Pizza Stop Thru — Restaurant in Athens

I got too frustrated waiting to order a pizza. I called to order from the bank across from them. I was put on hold then after ten minutes got hung up on. I walked in seeing several people walking out without their food. The older guy put in a huge dip of snuff and without washing his hands grabbed some dough. The phone rang he put them on hold then starting cussing about people calling. When I confronted him about not washing his hands he said the oven will cook it off. I walked out and never will return. Dirty nasty trash working with food. I'm surprised they haven't been shut down by the health department. Wish I could have given less than one star. Save your money and go...

I have been coming here since they opened the new drive-thru. I normally do not give reviews, but I was highly pleased with the team working Friday night (3/28).

Working 12 hours on the road, I ordered boneless wings plain to take home. Ultimately they gave me buffalo wings that I did not order or eat. I called once getting home to find out, and they we're insisting to DELIVER me the correct order. Though I did not take them that night.

I figured I'd chance it again and ask for the same order, knowing about yesterday they provided excellent PLAIN boneless.

Will keep going back, as they're great to have...

This restaurant used to be named Deputy's Pizza when it was owned by a local Albany/Athens family. Since the new owners have taken over (I believe in 2019), they have changed their food supplier, and the new supplier doesn't have as good of food in some aspects (rubbery ham), but better food in other aspects (WAY better pizza sauce than ever before). Also, since under new ownership, they have raised the prices a bit. However, with the current economy, nobody should be blaming them for that. I am just being honest on the only negatives.
