And so there's no confusion I am not a former employee of this Dollar General I have to say that this was absolutely the worst visit to a Dollar General store that I have ever had when I walked in the front doors and was greeted by a cashier who abruptly told me that the card reader wasn't working in a way too Honestly made me feel like she kind of didn't want me to come in and Shop I said oh thank you that's okay and did my shopping on my way up to the front counter I heard the same girl when the phone started ringing use a curse word about the phone which was definitely bad customer service I still do not know her name is a sign because she was not wearing a name tag there was some issues with the card reader so there was a good 5 10 minute wait she was trying to make it work for the person in front of me not a big deal that kind of stuff happens she rings up my items which ended up totaling somewhere between 25 and $30 I hand her $100 bill to pay for it and she responded she doesn't have the change for it I show her the rest of the money in my wallet which is just a few fives and a couple ones and I say that that's all I have and she goes well I suppose I hope you don't mind getting fives for change I'm still trying to keep the experience Pleasant so I smile and say that's okay it all spends then she starts making change for me which consisted of 20s tens and a couple of 5s so I'm not quite sure why she told me she couldn't break it I then try to give her four pennies so that my $0.96 and change can just be a dollar instead and she responds that she can't do that that I cannot give her for pennies so that she can just give me a dollar that I have to take the $0.96 she says they are not allowed to do that and I have never heard of such a thing at this it takes me a total of three times of asking her before she tells me her name as well as mumbles under her breath go ahead she ain't going to care at this point I tell her that she does not have to have such a bad attitude that the attitude has been this way since I walk through the door and I don't appreciate it to be honest it'll probably be awhile...
Read moreUnder staffed. Long wait to check out. Not uncommon for the registers to malfunction and require rebooting. Always seems there is more product stored and stacked on top of the shelves the then there is stocked on the shelves. Always seems like there are ladders and carts are left blocking the aisles. Some areas of the store looks like a tornado went through them. The staff are all very friendly with the exception of one gentleman who just seems to hate working and will weed himself out so not really the stores fault but everyone else is really friendly but they are all almost impossible to locate when needing assistance. Over all I think that all of the major problems with the store is a case of corporate management limiting the stores labor budget so that store level management is unable to adequately staff the store to be able to properly address the ongoing issues. Read moreI went to the store on Friday Oct 29th. Went to check out and the guy in front of me card declined. He said i will run to an ATM and will be back. He left I went to check out and the cashier told me she did not want to ring up the products again so was just going to leave it there till he came back and asked me to go to the next line. I then went to the back of the other checkout. Then the guy in front of me realized he did not have his wallet and it was in his semi and would be back. Both cashiers then were upset that I asked them to void out one of the transaction so I could check out.i have never dealt wit anything like this before.
