I have been fortunate enough to work with Amanda for a few years. I started working with her after a knee and ankle injury I sustained from gymnastics. I had definitely bearing full weight on my knee walking down stairs amongst other issues. Working with Amanda through the Gyrotonics system I discovered the reason why I suffered the injury in the first place. I understood the connections of my injury through my other body parts and how to integrate my movement through Gyrotonics. I was so impressed with the Gyrotonics movement system that with Amanda’s help I learned the gyrotonics and Gyrokenesis certification process. Amanda is very skilled and integrative instructor. Her many years as a dancer brings an understanding of movement integration greatly aids her capacity to understand and work with people with any form of movement...
Read moreI took a yoga swing/trapeze class with Amanda at the Movement Temple. She was incredibly knowledgeable about body mechanics and had attention to details for optimal alignment. I have a yoga trapeze imstalled at home and my goal was to learn what to do with it to improve strength and mobility. She showed me how to do many exercises, stretches, inversions, and she put it all together to make it a total body workout and long flow sequence, all with options to make it easier or harder. I've been an athlete/martial artist for 15+ years and was impressed with her teaching skills and constant adjustments for proper technique. She works with people of all skills and ages and has many tools and devices for different practices. The Movement Temple is a wonderful studio with reasonable pricing for services offered....
Read moreI'm a 69 year old male and in reasonable condition for my age. I've been going to another gym for self training and cardio and was beginning to notice that I how stiff/tight in some areas of my body. I found Movement Temple's info card about trapeze yoga thought I'd give it a try for a more structured stretch training. They incorporate strength, balance, and stretching in the classes. The first class was very challenging only because I didn't understand the movements but I did like it. That was about 3 months ago, since then I've been going consistently 2 to 3 times per week. I have noticed small gains in flexibility and balance, Its going to take a while on my part. The class instructors change the routine so its never boring, challenging yes! They work with the students to help...
